What a great honor for a great young man.
Four college football players from the Triangle will be on the field Thursday for the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
North Carolina State University senior tight end Asa Watson and Duke redshirt senior offensive guard Dave Harding are members of the of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and will be recognized for their work during the bowl game’s halftime show.
Watson is getting the honor for his work at a youth football clinic in New Orleans. Harding organized a mission trip for his fellow Duke offensive linemen to Ethiopia in the summer of 2012 where the group dug freshwater wells in a remote village.
Eleven players from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and 11 from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) or Divisions II, III or NAIA – who have positively impacted their communities and the lives of others through service were named to the Good Works Team.
