The handwriting was on the wall when he didn’t play on Saturday night. It’s now been reduced to a pink slip.
Per a league source, the Texans have dumped running back Andre Brown.
A fourth-round pick of the Giants in 2009, he has bounced around the league, with four different teams in 2010 (Broncos, Colts, Panthers, Washington). He found a home with the team that drafted him in 2011, spending three years in New York.
Brown signed a one-year, $645,000 contract with the Texans in the offseason, after a pair of 100-yard games for the Giants last season. His breakout game came on a Thursday night in 2012, when he gained 113 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns against the Panthers.
#NYGiants would be foolish not to reach out to Andre Brown. Solid RB who is a great run blocker. A lot better option than Peyton Hillis.

This staff looks like they are completely over matched at this point. Looks like they think they can pick up some better backs on the waiver wire.
