Congratulations to the ACC’s second best team (Georgia Tech) who took down the SEC’s second best team 49-34 after allowing an inconsequential score to

What with Winston and a lot of what appears to be poor behavior by other players, campus police, and perhaps others. My thinks Winston is a bad apple and I’ll be glad when he’s out of the league.
On a lighter note, I love watching GT and pull for them at just about every opportunity. That triple option is devastating…especially with a QB who can throw and runs like an RB.
01/01/2015 at 10:41 AM #67588choppack1ParticipantThe sec’s stellar reputation is well-earned.I think ole miss and Mississippi state both kind of fluked their way into the semifinal hunt this year and were emotionally spent by endo of year.
I mean, our stretch of FSU, Clemson, BC and louisville beat us down…we had a nice bye week and plenty to play for after that. Heck, arkansas was playing better than anyone not named bama in the west by the end of the season.
Great to see tech do well. Some of us will always think of PJ as the one who got away, but dd definitely has a better upside!
01/01/2015 at 12:24 PM #6759013OTParticipantACC football changed in 1991, and not for the good of the league. When the local teams, as well as Clemson and Tech won bowl games, it was seen as benefiting the conference. But Florida State football is primarily about Florida State, not the ACC. Kudos to Paul Johnson for putting in a plug for his league, something I doubt Jimbo Fisher would ever do. With Seminole Nation, the ACC revolves around them, or at least SHOULD.
The Criminoles may be the best team in college football. I happen to think not, but until somebody beats them on the field, it’ll be hard to argue against them.
But one thing I can argue, and that’s the likelihood that just about everybody outside of Tallahassee is hoping Oregon will not only win today, but will run it up. And while they’re at it, might even put that jerk at QB out of the college game for good.
01/01/2015 at 1:11 PM #67593TheCOWDOGModeratorGuess I was the only one pulling for the Starkville Cowbells.
I detest chop blocks, legal or otherwise.

I agree plus Miss St graduates I have worked with are pretty good and are good people.
Not everyone outside of Tallahassee is pulling for Nike U.
01/01/2015 at 2:52 PM #67600bill.onthebeachParticipant^ OK.. there’s at least ONE Noles fan here…
Plus One FSU grad….
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/01/2015 at 2:58 PM #67601PapaJohnParticipantRooting for FSU to win it all! Cannot understand why any fan in the ACC would not root for them. A win both gives the league prestige and reflects poorly on those cocky characters in the SEC.
Way to go Tech! Go get ’em Seminoles!!!01/01/2015 at 3:03 PM #67602WulfpackParticipantI will NOT be pulling for the Noles. It is going to be Bama and Oregon in a classic.
01/01/2015 at 3:26 PM #67605MrPlywoodParticipantI’d like to have seen FSU vs Bama, FSU win that then lose to the Ducks in the championship. As it is, I’m leaning Ducks all the way.
Citrus Bowl: is Mike Patrick drunk? That booth twosome has been getting all sorts of things wrong in their call.
Side note: The sports channels up here usually show games on the various incarnations of ESPN, and I used to get all the major games on one channel or another. One of those sports channels has been split into 5 variants, of course with two on my plan and the other three not. The 3 I don’t get have the Cotton Bowl, but none are showing the Aub/Wiscy game. One of the originals is showing a lumberjack competition. Grrrr. I guess my already hefty monthly bill just isn’t enough for them.
01/01/2015 at 3:53 PM #67607bill.onthebeachParticipant+PJ…
Noles GOTT Three here !!!
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/01/2015 at 3:58 PM #67609WulfpackParticipantSEC falls again. Big win for the Alvarez coached Wiscy over Aubie.
01/01/2015 at 5:33 PM #67621RickKeymasterI have always liked FSU. I was always impressed with Bowden.
I dislike Jameis a lot.
I dislike the sec more. Anyone but the sec.01/01/2015 at 6:11 PM #67623WulfpackParticipantAnyone but the sec.
Yea, but it’s Oregon tonight. And Bama would have much more trouble with the Ducks.
01/01/2015 at 6:54 PM #67628TheCOWDOGModeratorFu#k me Freddie boys, I’m a Pac10(or whatever) honk.
I pull for Clemson, UVa, and Duke, and that’s where I’ve always drawn the line.
Oh, now that ‘Cuse is here…them too.
I haven’t given FSU a flip since Fred Biletnikoff.
I was 6 yrs. old. And he was a HS basketball player.
01/01/2015 at 8:58 PM #6767413OTParticipantSomeone wondering why any ACC fans wouldn’t pull for FSU tonight?
Their CLASSLESS exit from the field pretty much puts an exclamation point on that topic!
Guess they were in a hurry to see their probation officer.
Good riddance!

Not an FSU fan just like the d(f)ucks even less
01/01/2015 at 10:41 PM #67695choppack1ParticipantHave a good one here.
In other news, UNC hired former auburn coach gene czik (or whatever) as DC. This is noteworthy because there was plenty of rumblings about his tenure @ auburn.
However, does anyone know if he got in trouble @ Iowa state.
01/02/2015 at 12:29 AM #67701MrPlywoodParticipanttOSU can’t stand prosperity, 2TD lead then they let Bama chunk a long one to get right back into the red zone… Time will tell.
01/02/2015 at 6:05 AM #67704WulfpackParticipantBig Ten takes down the mighty SEC yet again. Not a good showing for the SEC this year.
01/02/2015 at 6:46 AM #67705TexpackParticipantBy the Numbers
SEC West 2-5 in bowl games
SEC 10-11 vs other P5 schools for the season (Iowa vs Tennessee still to play)It was obvious to anybody who was paying attention that Ole Miss and Miss State were grossly over rated all year. They built their reputations beating other over rated SEC teams. A&M got a boost from beating over rated USC which added to the over valuation of the SEC West. LSU was obviously down but when another SEC West school beat them it was hailed as evidence of their greatness. ESPN turned up the volume on the SEC hype as soon as they signed the big deal with them a few years back and it has carried their water ever since.
What tOSU did to Bama last night with a third string QB was epic. Most importantly, the national media realizes that they’ve been exposed for being a PR mouthpiece for the SEC and they’re scrambling to revise their views.
01/02/2015 at 9:01 AM #67707WulfpackParticipantWhat tOSU did to Bama last night with a third string QB was epic.
I think it shows that Meyer has Ohio State right on (and probably ahead) of schedule. He is getting big time talent there. They are big, fast and strong. It was a whipping, and it shows the Bucks belong. Harbaugh is going to have Michigan on that same level in a couple of years. And Wisconsin showed they have got it, too. Sparty ain’t half bad, either.
I do think the SEC was over hyped THIS year, not necessarily in year’s past.
01/02/2015 at 9:35 AM #67708bill.onthebeachParticipant… the morning after…
… and speaking of statements…
1. The kid from OSU ain’t a third string QB… He’s a first string QB at any D1 school… except Oregon and FSU…
2. Oregon averaged an offensive play every 20 seconds over the entire game when they had the ball … including the last twenty or so minutes when they got the big lead and played ‘slowdown’ to run the clock…
Let’s forget for a minute, the physical impact of that on the Defense… because the “mental impact” is potentially much more devastating. There is no way … the kid can process the last play and get his head ready for the next one that fast…
3. Oregon’s high powered Offensive had absolutely nothing to do with FSU turnovers… Oregon’s Defense was the real deal and Ohio State better be worried about that as much if not more than the Ducks’ Offense.
4. There’s very little chance Oregon will repeat it’s performance last night next week… but the same could be said for OSU too.
So the NC is a tossup… that will be determined by the Coaches not the players… unless the game comes down to last four minutes with both teams in position to win… then maybe some player makes either the greatest play or the worse mistake of his career and that determines the outcome.
Either way… the game should be worth watching at least until somebody goes up three TDs…
#NCSU-North Carolina's #1 FOOTBALL school!01/02/2015 at 10:58 AM #67713TexpackParticipantI don’t think tOSU’s defense can hold up against Oregon. I think Oregon will win rather easily. They just have the killer instinct. They will make tOSU pay dearly for every mistake. tOSU only has a chance if they can pound the rock with Elliot and Marshall well enough to seriously limit the number of possessions the Ducks get. Ducks 45 Bucks 31
01/02/2015 at 11:07 AM #67715PittsburghPackFanParticipantGood for GT and PJ! Put me in the camp of Wuffies who think PJ is one who got away. Having said that, I understand why people wouldn’t want the Triple-Option in Raleigh. But I love it!
