ACC, Big East leading officiating alliance to address quality, scheduling concerns (CBSSports.com)
The stated mission of the alliance is for the four conferences to work together on all officiating matters, with John Cahill, the Big East Supervisor of Officials, and Bryan Kersey, the ACC Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officiating, managing the operations for the group.
Ackerman said this week that officials will not have the number of games restricted by the alliance, but having all four leagues work together should reduce the logistical issues for several prominent East Coast-based officials.
The alliance should also help in improving the quality of officiating, with all four leagues evaluating refs and sharing those evaluations with the rest of the group.
If done right this would be a great help but to the officials and to the teams.
If Swofford is involved I don’t trust it in any way, shape or form.
Does this mean we’ll see less of Ron Cherry and Jamie Luckie ???
idk…
bill we can hope …
