Florida was especially horrible last year with a JV offense. They lost a bunch of games. Even we probably could have hung with them.

Ga Southern is a good App State type of program. But that ain’t going to move the needle at CF. And lose and all hope for the season is lost in week one.

“Florida was especially horrible last year with a JV offense.”

And exactly what kind of offense did the Wolfpack run, Pop Warner?

“They lost a bunch of games. Even we probably could
    have hung with them.”

You lose all credibility here. Florida was no where near that bad. They may not have looked all that great, but they were playing the likes of UGA, SC, FSU, LSU , and Mizzou and were competitive in most games.

UF had four CTC losses of 6 points or less. They also had four double digit losses but still managed to avoid the CTC 3-9 record. Would love to swap the Presbyterian game with an 8pm matchup with UF. It would allow the time needed to sober up, drive home and then rehydrate for the Steeler game.

There’s really no reason for any sort of anger, or to attack anyone’s “cred”.

But according to espn’s stats, we ranked 79th in total offense last year. Florida? 114th. In other words, only 9 teams were worse.

And Ga Southern went a whopping 4-4 in the SoCon last year, with losses to Wofford, Sanford, App State and Furman.

Again, Florida was especially bad last year. So were we. That’s all.

No anger felt or intentionally conveyed. Just making statements directed towards a retort questioning the validity of my comment.

No terse words or terms were used. Just matter of fact statements.

Had I realize we had on our sensitive skirts, I would have thrown in a smilie face or two.

    But dude, seriously?

We here at Statefans have grown accustomed to analysis with a little more depth and relevance. Look no further than the UF opponents I listed to see where your conclusion falls flat.

Btw, Florida was only ‘especially bad’ by their and SEC standards. Had they been in the ACC Coastal, they would have been competing for an ACC title game birth.

Ok, maybe that one was a little snarky. Apologies. But from your own comments regarding the ‘quality’ of the ACC, it would appear you don’t completely disagree.

We agree on that one, considering Duke managed to make it to Charlotte last year in that side. But Duke did beat Miami easily, which Florida couldn’t do last year.

Florida was close in a lot of those games. They also couldn’t move the ball against anyone. It’s not like these were the great SEC defenses of old. Bama, LSU and SC were ranked in the 30s there. Not where they typically are.

I’m not really sure there is much of a disagreement here. I’m just pointing out the total body of work was not good for Florida last year. Any Gator fan would tell you that. Muschamp has said as much, saying it has to get fixed fast.

By the way, I had assumed Florida’s defense was better than ours. I was wrong. They ranked 114th there, where we were 79th. It was an especially bad year for the Gators.

Any truth to the rumor that the game is being moved up to 9:30 AM (partly to address the heat) and will be broadcast via PIP during College Gameday and ESPN3 only? That also gives them a game to do a “live look in” during Gameday.

On some of the national broadcast games of old [certainly not recent] ESPN had cables crisscrossing the field to zip that overhead camera around.

Just reinstall the cables and provide canvas over the east stands to shield the sun from the east siders… Paint a few cartoon rocks on them, & a Go Wolpfack!

    We’re capable.
