You are dead on burn barn, I thought the same thing at the time. I think if you rearrange Amato’s season results , he would have been around to coach 2 or 3 more years. If the last two years had been his first, close games but still 3-9, then rivers and Russell would have made a much longer stretch for him. Of course the crazy penalty totals and lack of recruits across all positions would have curbed higher levels of success. Timing is everything.
