Technician falls under the evil mind control of SFN, but some still resist!!!
Flashback: March 30th, 2006 from “Kennel Delivers Annual Communique To The Masses”: Dear Chancellor Oblinger, NC State is a Great University, and you are doing an excellent job building upon the strengths of previous Chancellors and taking us even further. Sincere thanks to you. [snip] Finally, I wish to state my personal support for whatever […]
Gone but not forgotten (because they’re still ripping us off)
One aspect of the ongoing scandal at my alma mater has been the revelation of an institutional culture of administrators openly enriching themselves at the expense of the citizens of North Carolina, who are — they should remember — forced to fund the university no matter what. That includes no matter how removed from responsible, […]
Site Problems Are Now Solved (Mostly)
Update 4: First of all, thanks to everyone for your kind words and your patience. I’ve finished rebuilding SFN from scratch, and as you can see, the site looks dramatically different as a result. As I pointed out in the comments, it is mainly because the styling code that SFN has used for quite some […]
SMD: The Gap Grows Greater
SFN: Long time readers may remember some of our old entries (from 2005-2006) that we named “Perpetually Disappearing Pieâ€. We won’t link them here since our most recent server transition removed the key graphs from the entries. Today’s entry is a special submission from one of our long time contributors, SMD, and brings with it […]
Laugh. Think. Cry.
V himself had said that team wasn’t very good. After a 6-8 conference record, State was seeded sixth for the 1987 ACC Tournament in Landover. But somehow – not unlike a few years earlier on an even bigger stage – Jim Valvano’s Cardiac Pack had survived and advanced to the title game, where they would […]
TOB Comments on the booing; Caulton Tudor gets it right
A question about the boos in Carter Finley Stadium was bound to be asked, so Tom O’Brien had no choice but to respond last night on his weekly radio show hosted at Sullivan’s in Raleigh. Coach Tom O’Brien talked about how annoyed he was with the fan’s reactions to Evans play on his weekly radio […]
Pray for Russell Wilson
I don’t care who wins or loses this game anymore. I just want confirmation that he can move his legs (Erin Andrews claims he was moving his feet). If you hear anything, please say so in the comments. UPDATE: Andrews says they are calling it a concussion. More tests pending.
Late pushes fall flat for Pack; Baseball represents last hope
After failed attempts to garner some kind of notable success by a couple of NC State’s non-revenue sports fell flat this week (men’s golf and women’s softball), NC State’s Baseball team remains as the last primary opportunity for Lee Fowler’s athletics department to do something special and win a “major” ACC Championship. It is something […]
Postseason Drought
Seems like it wasn’t so long ago that State’s football team punched America’s sweetheart in the mouth in the Gator Bowl (thanks Sean Berton), or that men’s basketball beat UConn at the buzzer to make the Sweet 16 or that Kay Yow led the Wolfpack Women to the Final Four.
But much like Falls Lake, State’s postseason appearances dried up this school year. While baseball is still in progress (and should make the NCAA tournament), the other three revenue programs failed to make a bowl game or the NCAA Tournament. That puts State in a category as one of five BCS schools to have that distinction.
