Just some random college football links of interest that became overdue during our last couple of weeks of hiatus: ===> Let’s start with one of my favorite magazines, The Sporting News. TSN not only asks, “Is it football season yet?”…but, they also offer Wolfpackers a nice bone to chomp when they pick us as one […]
NCS Football
Ouch, Mel
As I was blissfully surfing my XM Radio Saturday afternoon, I happened to stumble across ESPN Radio’s ACC preview. I forget the second member of the broadcast tandem, but the primary analyst was NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper (who must be branching out). Unsurprisingly, they pegged Miami, Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Boston College as […]
UCF Drops NC State From ’06 & ’07 Football Schedule
The Golden Knights will buy themselves out of three games in 2006 and another in 2007. Georgia, South Carolina and NC State will drop off the ’06 schedule, UCF officials confirmed. And NC State, which was scheduled to come to Orlando in ’06, also will have its ’07 game bought out.
Koren Robinson in Trouble Again
Koren Robinson has been charged with DUI and reckless driving following a May 6 incident in Medina, perhaps foreshadowing the troubled receiver’s release from the Seattle Seahawks.
Amato Earns Top Marks Among ACC Coaches
Rating the Coaches – What the Players Think I ran across the website that is the source for this story a few days ago…but, I liked the commentary included in the FanBlogs entry to start with that. A direct comparison between John Bunting and Chuck Amato doesn’t look to good for the belly. Even more […]
Pitt added to State’s Future Fball Slate
Maybe I missed it – I was traveling a lot earlier this month – but, I just haven’t seen much made of this story on NC State websites despite its presence in the local media and discussions on internet Message Boards. As a part of the ACC and Big East’s lawsuit settlement, the Pitt Panthers […]
ESPN Early Top 25
Below you’ll find the ESPN experts early season top 25, and my explanation about why its all wrong. I can’t say I’ve done all my research yet, but its not too early to say that these guys are morons. Since I’m not exactly going out on a limb cutting these guys predictions down, I’ll give […]
Finally A Good Article On ACC Bowl Options
One item that you have not really seen in the major media is that the ACC never expanded their bowl alliance when they added Virginia Tech & Miami. Adding 2 top 15 teams, and not adding to the mix of bowls, makes it possible for teams to have great seasons, and go to awful bowl […]
ESPN’s College Football Television Schedule
ESPN & ESPN2 have released part of their 2005 College Football television schedule. The schedule does not include all Saturday and Saturday night games that often are not scheduled until closer to kickoff. ESPN’s schedule and other television schedules will be permanently linked on the left hand side of this blog under “College Resources” for […]
Official: Temple Drops NC State, Will Play Mid. Tenn. How Much Did Temple Pay?
Temple has dropped NC State from their schedule. NC State will play host to Middle Tennessee on Nov. 19 and will have an open date on Sept. 10. The article didn’t address if Temple paid NC State the $250,000 buyout as that, according to the media, was stipulated in the contract. IKB had to say, […]
