Not good. The son of North Carolina State basketball coach Sidney Lowe was arrested Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery that ended with the shooting of a Raleigh man.
Sidney Lowe
A View from the Cheap Seats
I was wrong. Way back in November, before teams were playing in Maui or Anchorage and March Madness was still nothing but a distant idea, I wasn’t a complete believer. I had begrudgingly offered my support for the new coach that I had, admittedly, felt was simply the guy that we knew would say yes. […]
Lowe: ‘I love NC State’
In recent weeks some ‘rumblings’ regarding regarding some NBA teams’ interest in Sidney Lowe have been ruminating in some circles around the NC State Basketball program. SFN has no information on the topic. Regardless, we thought that the following quote from today’s N&O was worth highlighting. “I’m happy at N.C. State. I can’t think about […]
Sidney’s Impact Proliferating
An old friend from Washington, DC sent along the following reference and recognition of NC State Basketball Coach, Sidney Lowe. Very cool. Wizards Note: Wizards assistant coach Phil Hubbard watched the job Sidney Lowe did with the North Carolina State Wolfpack this season — Lowe nearly led his alma mater to an upset of rival […]
Wild, Wonderful West Virginia Live Blogging Game Thread
The Mountaineer State tourism department will like the thread title, anyway. I feel like a little live blogging tonight, with the Pack possibly 40 minutes of basketball away from Manhattan. Conference solidarity leads me to root for the Noles, but Mississippi State is up 13 at the break. Isiah Swann has 19 (yes, really!) and […]
Not Tired Wolfpack is New Attitude
On the back of this entry by Tom Suiter, we get more great praise for our Wolfpack today! As I write this, it’s late and I’m tired, but if the N.C. State basketball team can keep doing it, I suppose I can stay up just a little longer. I know I can’t be as tired […]
Oh, say, can you see a class act all the way?
Add dignity, patriotism and class to heart and mental toughness and all the other accolades for Coach Sidney Lowe and his Wolfpack. Local sports humorist, icky tarheel but otherwise all-’round great guy BobLee Swagger makes an observation in his post-ACC Tournament column that will make you proud: Yesterday at 1:00 PM EDT, everyone in the […]
ESPN: What we learned in Tampa
I’m going to tease with Bomani Jones’ second lesson first before delving into the real meat of this piece. Here is that second lesson: “The nation should be glad NC State didn’t make the NCAAs.” Jones praises NC State and Sidney Lowe highly here:
ESPN’s Pat Forde on Lowe’s Miracle Run
If ever there was a “must read” article, this one is it. You can’t buy press this good. Something special is brewing in Raleigh, win or lose tomorrow afternoon. Sit back and feel the magic, and tell the kids your own stories about 1974, 1983, 1987, and every other moment of NC State’s proud basketball […]
The Dream is Alive!
What tired legs? The Pack only commits one turnover against the late Hokie press, and nails free throw after free throw (while VT barely cleared the 40% bar from the charity stripe). I have no idea how in the hell we could manage to derail the UNC freight train tomorrow…but there’s nobody I would rather […]
