NC STATE BASKETBALL Joe Giglio (N&O) Three Points: Warren bounces back, classic Booker and black uniforms 1) Winning with the changeup There’s winning without your fastball and then there’s winning without your fastball, curveball or slider. That’s what N.C. State did on Sunday. C.J. Leslie and Lorenzo Brown scored six points each and the Wolfpack’s […]

Former NC State head coaches hired, fired in state of Virginia
It’s been an interesting few weeks related to respected former NC State Head Football coaches. First, the Wolfpack’s head man for the last six years, Tom O’Brien, accepted a job at the University of Virginia that saved NC State a million dollars in buyout. It was a GREAT move by the Cavaliers to land TOB […]
Wednesday Woolgathering
NC STATE BASKETBALL Joe Giglio (N&O) Life after Duke, UNC wins hasn’t been so kind to Wolfpack Lorenzo Brown is happy that N.C. State knocked off No. 1 Duke on Saturday and that the Wolfpack is 3-0 in the ACC, but he’s also tired of talking about the last game. A road game with Maryland, […]
Wednesday Woolgathering
NC STATE BASKETBALL Joe Giglio (N&O) Stung last season, Wolfpack warily prepares for Yellow Jackets N.C. State avoided most of the pitfalls on the ACC schedule last season with a notable exception. Georgia Tech beat N.C. State 82-71 in Raleigh last January. It was one of only four ACC wins for Georgia Tech last season […]
Wolfpack: 2012 Year in Review
As we all know by now, the Mayans were not correct and the world did not end. Since that day has come and past, we can look back on the highlights of the past 366 days (this year was a leap year people). In David Letterman fashion, here is this year’s top 10 list of […]
UNC getting in the way of Butch Davis going to FIU
I found this breaking news from Fox Sports to be pretty interesting. A contract squabble with the University of North Carolina is keeping Butch Davis from becoming the next head coach at Florida International University, a source told FOXSports.com on Thursday night. The dispute centers on almost $1.8 million that Davis is owed from the […]
Merry Christmas. Roll Tide.
This Christmas video of a dad being surprised with tickets to BCS Championship game shows the kind of unadulterated happiness that makes sports such a wonderful component of our lives. I would give about anything to be able to make someone I love this happy. Merry Christmas!
Thursday Basketball Bytes – Stanford, Officials, UNC & polls
I apologize that we didn’t have more on the Wolfpack’s big win over Stanford yesterday. The real world evidently was calling on all of our author group. A lot of fans found what they were looking for on on our message forums. The following is a nice set of highlights from the game. There are […]
College football attendance drops, TV viewership mixed
Regular-season attendance at college football’s highest level dipped to 45,274 fans per game in 2012, the lowest average since 2003.  Closer to home, the average crowd in the ACC was 49,544 – down 11% since 2004 (when Miami & VPI joined the conference).  NC State’s average attendance at Carter-Finley Stadium was 54,106, down 4% from 2011. […]
Doeren not a candidate at Wisconsin; Larry Fedora a candidate at Tennessee?
Link to Dave Doeren central! I’m up in New York for meetings (and the Wolfpack) and therefore haven’t had the time to sit around and stay on top of all of the breaking news. There appeared to be some concern yesterday that the newly created Wisconsin opening could mean trouble for NC State as Dave […]
