It is no secret that NC State seriously struggled with its kicking game in the 2015 season. With only 50% field goal success this year, a new kicker feels long overdue. So along with these new coaching changes, the Pack has also picked up Connor Haskins as the new placekicker from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
The Lumberton native graduated from UNCP in December and will pursue his master’s degree in public administration while he finishes his last year of eligibility. At Pembroke, Haskins had a 72% field goal success rate, with the longest from a 50-yard distance, while NC State’s freshman Kyle Bumbard’s longest kick was only from 37 yards. Haskins also made 98% of his PAT attempts his sophomore year. Hopefully Haskins can provide the Pack with a reliable kicker to put 3 up on the board.
