NC State Hires Dwayne Ledford

We mentioned before that Dwayne Ledford was a potential new hire for the Wolfpack earlier this month, and it looks like we were right. NC State hired Ledford last week after hiring Eliah Drinkwitz and the new coaches seem happy to be working together.

Ledford will be the new offensive line coach and run game coordinator. As a North Carolina native, Ledford lived in Raleigh during his seven year NFL career and just finished his fourth year with Appalachian State as the offensive line coach and his third as the co-offensive coordinator for the run game.

While Ledford was with the Mountaineers, App averaged 257.2 rushing yards per game over the past two seasons and set a Sun Belt single season record with 11 wins in the 2015 season.

The combination of his successful coaching career and his playing experience makes it look like Ledford will be a good fit with the Wolfpack and can really be an asset to our running game. Hopefully he will be a good fit for State’s top running back, Matt Dayes, who was unfortunately unable to finish out this season due to injury and rising sophomores Reggie Gallasby and Nyheim Hines.

However, his stats prove his skill, while his connections to North Carolina, and more specifically Raleigh, will make it easy for Ledford to connect with the fans.

Sounds like the offense should be exciting to watch, and should be productive, and as someone said, a great offense can make for a great defense, as too many times this year the defense spent too much time on the field.

^ Unless that offense is TOO good. Then it can turn a great defense into a bad one.

As the K-Gun offense did to the Bills.

^ Let’s just hope that our biggest problem next year is that our offense is too good. #FirstWorldProblems
