Yesterday NC State released its 2016 football schedule and it’s a solid one at that. With seven home games including Notre Dame and Florida State, this schedule is arguably one of the best home schedules we’ve had, despite the UNC game being hosted in hell.

Last year Doeren and NC State got a lot of flack about having an easy schedule, but there is definitely no denying the level of strength of this schedule for the 2016 season. However, with such a great schedule, it’s going to be a tough season for the Pack, which means it could also have a big payoff for the program should NC State rise to level of its competition.
“Clemson will likely open the season ranked No. 1 in the country. Florida State and Notre Dame will also likely be top 10 teams.
UNC, Louisville and Miami will probably open the season in the top 25.
That’s potentially six games against ranked teams. You can throw a bottle in Mississippi or Alabama and find an SEC fan who disagrees, but there might not be another team in the country with a schedule tougher than N.C. State’s.”

Here’s to hoping the new coaching staff and this tough schedule makes for an exciting 2016 Wolfpack season.
