Time is flying on me and I am becoming old faster than I would ever have imagined. So, now that I have blinked and my little boy is nine-years old I am realizing how many times that I’ve had to try to drill the same messages into his psyche regarding good sportsmanship and using some common sense to keep his mouth shut while he’s playing sports.
With that said, yesterday’s college football games provided some interesting lessons for anyone willing to pay attention.
First came TheU(g) for lesson number one. As you can see from the video below, TheUg’s decided it would be a good thing to poke the (Clemson) Tigers before yesterday’s game. It ended swimmingly for the Hurricanes who were handed the school’s worst defeat in history, 58-0.

I found Dabo’s halftime comments (below) particularly impassioned when you consider that Clemson was up 42-0 at halftime. There is a lot being said without him actually finishing each sentence with a “you’re not Miami” reference:
Later on Saturday, Georgia Tech pulled off a miracle as time expired to beat #9 Florida State and make certain that the only way that the Atlantic Coast Conference gets a team into the College Football Playoff is if Clemson runs the table. Florida State’s Roberto Aguayo had a chance to save the game for the Seminoles during the Yellow Jackets’ game winning return. It is shocking that he couldn’t make the tackle (and looked SO BAD in the process) in light of his previous comments in response to the Auburn-Alabama ending a couple of years ago.
