NOTABLES
• NC State has now won seven consecutive games dating back to last season – the final three last year and the first four this season. The last time NC State won that many consecutive games was when the Pack won the first nine games to start the 2002 season.

• NC State has also won five straight away from Raleigh dating back to last season, the longest winning streak away from Raleigh since also winning four straight during the 1973 and 1974 seasons. In fact, NC State has won five straight away from Raleigh only three times in history now (1962-63).

• NC State won two non-conference road contests in the same season for the first time since 2002 – Navy and Texas Tech.

• For the second straight season, NC State both started 4-0 and won all of its non-conference games.

• For the third straight game, NC State had a different player line up at left guard. Alex Barr started the first due games at LG, but has missed the last two weeks with injury. Last week’s starter, Bryce Kennedy is out this week. Redshirt-freshman Tyler Jones made his first career start today.

• NC State’s 63 points scored were the most in a game since 2009 (Murray State – 65) and the most in a road contest since 2002 (Navy – 65).

• The Pack’s 28 first quarter points were the most for an NC State squad since scoring 35 against Eastern Kentucky in 2005. NC State’s 42 first half points were the most in a road contest since scoring 49 against Duke in 2001.

• On each of the Pack’s first five possessions, the Wolfpack scored a TD.

• Matthew Dayes’ 77-yard TD run in the first quarter was NC State’s ninth-longest run in school history and the longest rush since a Ray Robinson 87-yard run in 2001.

• For the fourth straight game, Dayes went over 100 yards rushing. He is the first NC State running back since Joe McIntosh in 1981 to have four straight 100-yard rushing games.

• QB Jacoby Brissett extends his streak without an interception to 189 passes over the last 30 quarters. During his streak he has thrown 11 touchdowns.

Congratulations Pack – very impressive win. I was please to see us pull ahead early so many of the new players could get some valuable PT. We seem to be strong at nearly all positions. Our O-line and running backs were great. My only concerns last night were a couple of less than stellar kicks (which hasn’t been the norm) and getting burned on the long passes. This second issue seems to have been a problem over the years (our more experienced player(s)). Hopefully some adjustments will be made there. Looking forward to Louisville this week.

I think we can be a very good team this year and am very confident under Doeren. I am really looking forward to playing ACC-level talent from here.

Doeren’s rushing philosophy will help us tremendously through the season, especially in tough games or if we start slow.
