As weird as it may sound, NC State’s loss improved the Wolfpack’s RPI to somewhere around the range of ~38 to 40 and keeps the strength of schedule amongst the top five in the country.
The *good* news is that Thursday’s loss could very well serve to send NC State to a #10 seed in the NCAA Tournament, meaning the Pack would ultimately play a two seed in the Round of 32 as opposed to a #1 seed (which would either be Kentucky in Kentucky or Villanova in Pennsylvania).
