NC State has landed a big time letter of intent from Garner native, Nyheim Hines. He checks in around 5’8″ and 180 pounds. Hines is one of the best players in the state of North Carolina as well as the country. His incredible speed in the backfield or slot will help The Pack out next year significantly with Jacoby Brissett gaining a major weapon with Hines. The ability of him making the big time play will be a key with The Wolfpack in the running plus passing game in the near future. Alongside his quickness, Hines is the early favorite to return kicks plus punts next year. His recruitment was followed closely by State fans since he is one of the top players in the area and needed to stay close to home. The Pack were always up high in his recruitment but in the fall it seemed like NC State’s chances with him increased. Nyheim committed to Dave Doeren and company on December 19th.
Emanuel McGirt, Darian Roseboro and Quentez Johnson were major contributors in his recruitment consistently talking up The Pack. Hines will be attending NC State this summer alongside his twin sister, Nyah who will run track here. Keeping Hines at home was huge as he picked The Wolfpack over Arkansas, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
