The Wolfpack have landed their future offensive tackle with big time prospect Emanuel McGirt. The big time lineman comes from right down the road in Durham as he attends Hillside High School. A consensus top ten player in the state of North Carolina, McGirt has the frame that all college coaches love to see in a prospect as he stands 6’5″ and weights in at 270 pounds. One of the five NC State commitments who played in The Shrine Bowl, give running backs coach Desmond Kitchings credit as he was all over him from the beginning. NC State was his first scholarship as this showed dividends in the long run. The first thing you should think when you see him is wow, this kid already has a frame built for a starting freshman college tackle. There is a possibility McGirt could slide into this roll as The Pack are trying to replace tackles Tyson Chandler and Rob Crisp due to graduation.
McGirt might be my favorite NC State player and he hasn’t even put on a jersey yet. His parents plus sisters attended North Carolina and McGirt decided to commit to The Tar Heels in June. There was a lot of pressure it seemed to make this decision as later in the summer McGirt decommitted from North Carolina as NC State and Georgia looked like the front runners to sign him. Once he left The Tar Heels I had a great feeling he would commit to The Wolfpack because he always seemed to like NC State the most. He took numerous visits to Raleigh before his first decision but in the end he committed to the place he wanted to play his college football, in Carter-Finley Stadium. McGirt also helped with the recruitment of big time running back Nyheim Hines as the two on twitter occasionally would exchange tweets how they would love to play college football together. He ended his recruitment on November 19th when he committed to NC State over Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami (FL), North Carolina, Penn St, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
