Jarius Morehead who has been committed to NC State around eight months has officially signed his letter of intent with The Pack. Morehead reigns from Whitsett, North Carolina plus attends Eastern Guilford High School, the same high school Torry and Terrance Holt attended. At first The Pack were high up with Morehead but after the commitment of Freddie Phillips it looked to be that he would be heading elsewhere to play college football. The staff made adjustments to find a way to take one of the best defensive players in state as he committed on June 14th during an unofficial visit to State.
Morehead will play safety for NC State in the future with his athletic frame of 5’11” and 188 pounds. Early enrollee Freddie Phillips plus Morehead will be controlling the secondary for The Pack in the future. Both of these recruits are big and strong safety as receivers on the other team need to be aware of them at all times if they choose to go over the middle. Not only was Jarius a big time commitment but he played a major role in Reggie Gallaspy’s recruitment. The two are both good friends which played a role in Gallaspy selecting NC State. He was one of the five NC State commitments to play in The Shrine Bowl as well. Morehead ended his recruitment early as he picked The Wolfpack over Charlotte, Clemson, East Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest.
