Vernon Grier coveted an NC State offer after the news of Bo Hines deciding to transfer to Yale University. Grier a star wide receiver for The Mallard Creek Mavericks out of Charlotte, NC was quick to accept that scholarship from The Pack after an unofficial visit three weeks ago. Grier checks in around 5’11” and 170 pounds but has incredible speed. He will count towards Pack15 as a blue shirt meaning he will be on scholarship but will not be able to enroll until August. He attends the same high school as NC State star Jaylen Samuels, Mallard Creek High School which has the potential to be a major pipeline for NC State football recruiting in the future with all the great talent coming out of The Charlotte area. Grier is another under rated player in The 2015 class but has accomplished something not a lot of high school football players have done, winning back-to-back state championships. Grier was not heavily recruited out of high school but picked NC State over Charleston Southern. It’s always great to see talent from Charlotte heading up to Raleigh.
