This past Friday morning after the lowly 5-5 Tar heels were able to so easily dismantle what the media would want you to believe is the greatest power led by the greatest football coach in ACC history, we asked a fair question of what that means for the positioning of the ACC Coastal?
After yesterday I REALLY have to re-ask the question after Wake Forest – which among the worst ACC football teams I’ve ever seen – was able to beat the Coastal’s Virginia Tech Hokies just one week after the Hokies were also able to beat the ‘mighty’ Duke Blue Devils in Durham.
An SFN author made the following point in a previous thread with which I agree:
– A team is more likely to have “sure” wins in the Atlantic (with Wake & Syracuse)
– A team is more likely to have “sure” losses in the Atlantic (with FSU, Clemson and even Louisville)
– The Coastal is much more balanced and competitive than the Atlantic; but, that balance and competition is not at a very high level.
Oh well, the following screen grab from yesterday is fantastic. My oh my how the (former) mighty have fallen.
