NC State will be wearing new helmets today in a game which importance I cannot overstate. Today’s game (3:30pm kickoff) vs Boston College is HUGE — not only for NC State’s season, but also for Coach Dave Doeren’s resume and his ability to make his life easier in the future through the recruitment of some top talent. Doeren’s wheeling and dealing from the sidelines – see the fake punt from deep in our own territory last year vs UNC-CHeats – has helped put him a little behind the 8-ball in the win/loss column, helping create a 0-10 record vs ACC competition since arriving at State. At 4-2 in 2014 and without a ‘sure win’ remaining on the schedule, the home games against Boston College and Wake Forest take on particular importance for 2014 season.
Additionally, Doeren & Company continue huge recruiting momentum and this weekend could put the Pack over the top with a handful of highly coveted players. After landing Tim Glass and Reggie Gallaspy in part due to a fantastic atmosphere vs Florida State, the Wolfpack will host a superstar group of key/core talent from the state of North Carolina today, including Johnny Frasier (FSU commit), offensive lineman Emmuel McGirt, Darian Roseboro, Daris Workman (official), Nyheim Hines [who had 4 more touchdowns last night] (official), Mike Hughes (official). Of course, it would help if it wasn’t fall break and most of the students were in town!
Huge visitors today. Hines @thenyny2, McGirt @Mcgirt7, Roseboro @DarianRoseboro, Frasier @JohnnyOOsoFast, Hughes @BigMikee1 Some of NCs best
