A lot of NFL action today as the Playoff Picture has all but materialized.
The San Diego Chargers faced an elimination game against half of a Kansas City Chiefs squad. The stars aligned for the Chargers and it looked like the Chargers would squander their playoff berth. A missed field goal by the Chiefs would send the game to overtime where the Chargers would capitalize winning 27 – 24. If the Chargers had lost, then Jerricho Cotchery’s Pittsburgh Stealers would’ve sealed up the spot instead.
If #Chargers lose at home to the KC backups after everything broke their way, it's the biggest fail of a crazy NFL season. @EricStangel

No one will give #Chargers any respect. Truth is: they won four straight to get in, while everyone else choked. @EricStangel

User Pack78 asked the questions in the comments about the odds of the Chargers making the playoffs. It was indeed a long shot. Going into Week 15, the Chargers had a 1.4% chance of getting a playoff spot.

Russell Wilson’s Seattle Seahawks had the chance to play their way into the NFC’s number one overall seed and didn’t miss that opportunity against an outmanned Saint Louis Rams. A loss here would have have catapulted the Carolina Panthers to the one seed, but Russell & a stable of Wolfpack talent wouldn’t be denied. The Panthers will get a first round bye and one home game with the NFC’s two spot.
Although results are still pending the Eagles / Cowboys matchup, for Wolfpack Nation, all has already been decided. Here’s your Wolfpackers in the 2013 NFL Playoffs.
Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson
Steven Hauschka
J.R. Sweezy
San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers
Denver Broncos
Nate Irving
New England Patriots
Adrian Wilson

I would be remiss if I didn’t say something about the remarkable job Riverboat Ron and the Panthers have done this year. After a 1 – 3 start with losses piling up eerily resembling last year’s 4th quarter leads turned losses, the Panthers turned things around with 8 straight wins from October to December. The Panther’s stellar defense and a boneheaded play by Matt Ryan would seal up the NFC South Division Title. They’re a fun team to watch and if they get more consistent offensive production, then they will certainly be a tough out. ACC Alum Luke Kuechly is one hell of an athlete and a lot of fun to watch.
Good one! >>> RT @citori525: Finally a Carolina team wins a legit divisional championship. #bringontherings

The #Kraken (Hardy) spoke in a post game interview which has to rank in the Top 5 of all post game quotes ever. If the sport were trolling the media, the Panthers would be the favorite to win it all. #KILTIT #NOSPOON
As for me, I’m pulling for the hometown team first followed equally by the Seahawks and the Chargers. The odds on favorite is likely to be Peyton Manning, who will hands down be the league’s MVP, and his cast of supporting characters from the Broncos including suplexing Nate Irving (yes, that’s the unstoppable Campanaro that is being, well, stopped). Whose back you got, #WPN?
