The time is near, and my insides are already bubbling with rage. Obviously, I will be in no shape to LiveBlog, but will be glad to see everyone in the comments.

Dear God, don’t let us lose this one. Would be extra nice for it to be a blowout. Please.

    In fairness, the decision on DD should not be made yet.

    But he didn’t help his cause today. Being undermanned is not an excuse for stupid.

    Carolina was in control the whole game due to superior talent. The mismatch was much worse than the score indicated. We were playing from behind almost the whole game and I don’t blame that on the coaches.

    Unless DD fails at recruiting I don’t see anything that would make me think he won’t be successful. However I think we better improve each of the next 2 years. The clock is ticking starting now. Next year should be some sort of bowl game and the following year we should be competitive in our division and in contention at least in November.

    Can anyone tell me what this crap is WRAL is running on Monday?

    I’m reserving judgment about Doeren & Company until after next season. Still … the fake punt was probably one of the worst coaching decisions I can think of in modern NC State History. ESPECIALLY when you have the lead against your arch-rival.

    I think we all like DD and we also know TOB left us with Jack $hit. However, we are not bad fans to call it how we see it and we have every right to make observations. Mine is simple…..We are recruiting well but my gosh the Coaching has looked horrid to this point. Horrid….

    We suck on the talent scale and DD is going to struggle with what we have. That being said the Coaching staff has stunk it up really bad thus far. Even with no talent you can have some good plays or Coaching. That has not been the case thus far AND that is what scares me the most!!!

    We displayed almost every weakness we have as a team. QB playing in only his second complete game visibly tired in 4th quarter. UNX receivers clearly more athletic than most anyone we can put up against them. Plain out odd play calling at times. With a huge. WTF call on the fake punt that killed all of the momentum we had going at the start of the game. TOB certainly intended to retire after this season because he had to know what this year was going to be like and that DY would have canned him at seasons end.

    You can’t tell how a QB will be under game conditions until you see him in a game. We saw BM for two series. That is a very poor standard for judging a coach. You can’t judge him til he gets his own players in there. NIU’s success this year is no judgement on DD at all. Give me a break.

    I’m sorry, who goes for a fake punt on their end of the field? That Changed the momentum and set them up to score! Game changer! How do we gamble on that but settle for FGs on our own 5?

    Not only a bad decision to go for a fake punt on 4th and LONG, but the decision gets even more horrendous when you decide to to a fake punt RUN on 4th and long. Holeeeee sh!t what a charlie foxtrot.

    I am having flashbacks to the (can’t win more than 3 football games per year) Tom Reed era! I can’t believe we just got manhandled by that clown Fedora and his joke of a football team. Wow!! A winless conference season!! Unacceptable!!

    I’ll take Randy Woodson, Debbie Yow, Dave Doren, & Mark Gottfried over Jim Oblinger, Lee Fowler,Tom O’Brien, and Herb Sendek any phukin day of the week. We really need to lighten up and give our new chemistry a chance to jell. I’m pretty certain that DD is not the least bit happy with the teams performance this season. I think he’ll do something about it. At the end of the day we are NC State. We need to build programs and get results to get top talent into West Raleigh. I think we’ve got a hell of a start and with Dr’s Woodson and Yow at the helm we’re are finally going in a positive direction.

    When you personnel struggle as much as this bunch does with execution, they make every call look bad. The fake punt was about trying to keep momentum because I figured UNC was going to roll in for another score right away. DD knew he was outmanned in terms of talent, you take big chances when that is the case.

    Again, much insanity here. Many coaches have losing seasons their first year and even second and third years. Some of you people have really unrealistic expectations. This is not Tom Reed or Monte Kiffin or Mike O’Cain. This guy and his staff will give NC State the best squad it has had since the Sheridan era. But it is not done in a day.

    DD, in his first year already has a better recruiting class than TOB had during his whole career. We may be adding some very big names to what we already have. We may have a top 20 class this year. Remember TOB’s #55, #63 ranked recruiting classes, you say that on the field today. Without some of the transfers you say in there, it would have been much worse. We are 10th ranked in the country in the number of true freshmen we start and play. That will pay off big soon. Jacoby Brissette is the real deal. When we have an elite QB, you will see a world of difference.

    The fake was very high risk with a high reward. With hindsight it was a terrible idea (I thought it was when it unfolded also). That it was used either means the coaching staff has no clue or that they realize just how thin the line is this year.

    IMO it is a bit early to pass judgment on the staff or the program but I’m not sure in this day and time one can allow 5 years to turn the ship.

    Chuck Amato was an imcompetent clown. If you really remember those years, you’ll remember he won due to Phil Rivers and one great recruiting class. Closer to the end of his stay, the team was in complete disarray. Soon we will be spending every holiday season hoping DD doesn’t leave to go to a top 10 program.

    The fake punt was absolutely beyond stupid and you cannot spin that turd of a decision to me nor to anyone who has any inkling of basic football knowledge.
