    Guys, DD is in over his head. We hired a baby by coaching standards, he’s only 41. He makes his coaching decisions based out of emotion. Like he’s playing Madden. Even with decent players that coaching style will be devastating.

    Hope he grows as a coach, but it sucks we have to wait on it.

    It’s not on the staff. It’s horrible QB play. That’s it. The decision should have resulted in a first down.

    Just came back to the tv. I agree gray wolf, that is not smart coaching. Trying not to crucify DD just yet, but damn.

    Why did the QB run BACK 5 yards to hand it off to Shad? The DL and LB were all over that….

    This is getting UGLY…..and compared to how we have played before, that is really bad.

    I still have hope for DD, but I think that the team is in need of a pep talk and refocusing that even Jimmy V could not muster up…..

    At least it is NOT 14 and 0…..and it is only 10 and 0….

    I believe in going for it. But when you have a shit OL, you can’t call timeout to telegraph the call, then run up the middle. Quick snap to a QB sneak? Sure.

    When the team is one dimensional, and you line up like that, everyone knows what’s coming. That’s was a horrible play call but not a bad decision.

    after twenty minutes…. both teams are playing more or less equally… and we are down by 7.

    Kick the sh&t out of the ball and flip the field.
    No other choice.

    Oh well.

    It’s f-ing duke for god sake. The only team state has a talent gap over. 4th and 1 should be an any time and place type of call.

    It is a 7 point game. You are in it. It is the second quarter. There is just no need for that call then and there. No need at all. Punt it and play D. Now we are down 10 and that is on the staff.

    The DL and LB were all over that….

    That’s kinda the whole point. Going straight up the gut with our OL and when that’s what they’re expecting, shows a definite lack of creativity.

    Like the poster said previously, our staff calls plays and makes decisions based on emotion not based on time, score, or logic.

    It’s like the SLE on turf. That is concerning.

    In that situation, down 7 in the 2nd quarter on your own 20, you absolutely NEVER go for it. That call is indefensible. Even if we scored an 80 yard TD it would have been a HORRIBLE call.

    U have got to be kidding me! Did he learn nothing from last week? Unbelievable! 4th and 2″ and we hand off from 3 yds deep? WTH? If you’re going to gamble at least come up with a creative play! Why was Mitchell not in? Idiotic! As my dad says, you can’t fix stupid!
