1 practice in and the injury bug has already hit the hoops team. State has put out a press release that Cat Barber has suffered a concussion.
Barber, a McDonald’s All-American last year out of Newport News, Va., is being held out of practice and is being evaluated under NC State’s concussion protocol within the supervision of the school’s athletic training staff and team physicians.
The injury occurred during a loose-ball scramble on Tuesday, near the end of the team’s first official workout. He collided with sophomore teammate T.J. Warren, who came away from the play without injury.
TJ Warren is reportedly fine from the incident and during basketball media day appears to be in the best shape of his life.
“T.J. has spent this spring, summer, and fall working extremely hard. He’s been in the gym as much as anybody… he’s a very dedicated guy that wants to have a great year.”
