Wolfpack Basketball Roster Configuration

We thought it would be a good time to re-assess the projected roster and scholarship configuration of the Wolfpack basketball program after Saturday’s announcement that Top 50 high school basketball player, Abdul Malik Abu will be playing in Raleigh (click here).

As you can see from the projected roster below, the recent additions of Desmond Lee and Trevor Lacy have helped re-balance the Wolfpack’s scholarship spacing in the coming cycle of scholarships. We are still heavy on the inexperienced end of the spectrum, but are gradually improving. The expected early departure of TJ Warren after this season won’t help the spacing much, and would serve to leave State with only four upperclassmen in 2014-2015; but the significant playing time that this year’s freshmen will have received will help. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at the stockpiling of young talent in the post at the forward position and wonder if there is ultimately room for everyone to get the kind of playing time that (unfortunately) kids now expect to make themselves happy. One thing we don’t have to worry about is any defections near the top of the ladder as Ralston Turner, Desmond Lee and Trevor Lacy have already ‘shot their bullet’ with transferring into the program.

It looks like we got a great 8-man rotation this year with back ups at each position. I cant wait until Nov.

    1- Lewis/Barber
    2- Lee/Turner
    3- Turner/Warren
    4- Warren/Washington
    5- Anya/Freeman/Washington

What???? No football content here??? Surely we can’t ever forget the entire week of enlightening and productive circle jerk commentary regarding DD’s pass-out comments. And then there was the flag discussion.

It will be nice to have some depth this year, the talent drop off last season was unreal.

I went to some of the Pro-Am games and I know its a glorified scrimmage but Washington is the real deal. He has a much stronger looking body than most incoming Freshmen, I expect him to contribute right away.

Barber was one of the top 3 PG’s out of HS right? I as well dont see him as a backup for 2 seasons.

Hopefully Anya can drop some lb’s, he was huge at the Pro-Ams. Worst case though you aren’t moving him from under the rim.

I wonder if Anya has ever snapped a football or better yet squatted down, paused until a sudden movement, lunged forward and tried grab and squash someone?
