Week 2 Open (ie, non-NC State) College Football Thread

Yes, it’s early…but Wake Forest looks like a full-on dumpster fire. Ah, the bottom feeder Atlantic Division clashes. Kind of appropriate that it’s on during a predominantly high school timeslot.

Tomorrow’s slate is pretty mediocre, apart from Dawgs/Cocks. No confirmation as to whether peanut butter will be involved.

    Ball game.

I won’t consider State a running team until they can consistently run against good teams. That hasn’t happened in over a decade and I don’t expect it to change this year.

    A TD puts it away.

    SEC. SEC. SEC. SEC

Miami with the upset. They look like the number 12 nationally ranked team, not Florida. Another big win for the league.

Starting to look like we might have the better of the two 2012 Florida QBs on our bench.

  7. tjfoose1 09/07/2013 at 3:20 PM #

You misunderstood my point, red’. I essentially agree with BJD.

It was the responses to his posts that I found errant.

^Nah, I understand it, just being a contrarian. But really, I do think that losing BM will effect us, but not that much. Neither QB is known as a great passer or bootleger to begin with…

  9. Texpack 09/07/2013 at 3:29 PM #

Prediction. Florida will still be ranked higher than Miami

  10. Wulfpack 09/07/2013 at 3:30 PM #

    Al Golden can coach.

  11. Wulfpack 09/07/2013 at 3:31 PM #

I bet you are right, Tex. Bunch of crap.

  12. BJD95 09/07/2013 at 3:33 PM #

I would put Miami around 20, Florida 24 at best.

Ducks looking to embarrass Cavs. I looked away for just sec and, not content with just 7, they’ve boarded a quick 8.

Braxton Miller out with a knee injury

Can UVa hold Oregon under 70

Look at that, all of Charlottesville seems thrilled to now have only lost the 1st qtr by 14.

The Hoos in Hooville are a strange, usually drunken lot. They could be cheering for general entertainment, or for the weather.

I saw that TWC has picked up our game today in certain markets, including there in the home zone.

But does anyone know of any non-ESPN3 live feeds?

I’ll be doing the ESPN3 thing, but am asking for the benefit of others who don’t have access to either ESPN3 or TWC.

Game thread is up. I assume First Row Sports is still a viable alternative. Though you gets to enjoy lots of f-cking popup ads with that site.

Georgia looks loaded for bear today.

  20. Texpack 09/07/2013 at 5:19 PM #

The Cocks look overmatched today. Not putting up near the fight the Tiggers did last week.

  21. Wulfpack 09/07/2013 at 5:22 PM #

Dawgs running it right down Cocks throat. Clemson was clearly a wake up call for this bunch. Clowney again looking gassed.

  22. redcanine 09/07/2013 at 10:23 PM #

Alright, BeeJD95, foose, and the rest of America. Three turnovers by the qb position was three too many. The running game wasn’t there, even with Shad. You win.

But who thought our defense was going to be that bad? Even Dante got beat for a touchdown.

At least Florida and South Carolina lost. Go Blue!

  23. Wulfpack 09/07/2013 at 10:33 PM #

For all the constant talk about Clowney being All-Universe, he sure has started the season with a whimper.

We did what we had to do to win. It wasn’t pretty, and many others won’t be either. A lot of change going on with the Pack. No identity yet and that is to be expected. Clemson will beat us by at least 20.

  24. tjfoose1 09/07/2013 at 11:21 PM #

“But who thought our defense was going to
be that bad? Even Dante got beat for a
    touchdown.”

I don’t think anyone of our ilk was expecting a good defense. Serviceable to average is what was expected, with potential upside if some playmakers could be found.

    Two things to note though:

    1) Richmond is good team (not just FCS good), and their QB is better. He’d start for at least half the league schools.

    2) Dante has played his entire career in a zone defense. Moving to man ain’t a simple thing.

… and remember, its #Pack14. Of course everyone playing hard now, but I ain’t seen the coaches tweet a #Pack13.
