Pack9 will have to avoid Omaha’s paranormal activity tonight

As the Wolfpack’s 8pm match up with UCLA slowly approaches I continue to grow more nervous. So, the following evidence of a paranormal force field of ghosts tripping UNC players at the College World Series was a nice distraction for me this afternoon! Hat tip to our sister blog in the USA Today digital properties network, ForTheW!n

… the kid on the mound (Jernigan) seems to be comfortable with the start and pitching smart…

Batters look tentative. Shouldn’t be taking so many pitches which are mostly strikes

What are the white things flying around the field and stadium?

  4. Primewolf 06/18/2013 at 8:51 PM #

What are the white floaters showing up on TV??

  5. Primewolf 06/18/2013 at 9:11 PM #

    Missed opportunities there.

Those things flying around are pieces of the fairies the holes pulled out of their arses.

Man, Jernigan has some nasty stuff. Breaks sharp and late

  8. 44rules 06/18/2013 at 9:37 PM #

they’ve stayed with him too long.

Wheels fell off right at 70 pitches.

    Risky business leaving Jerrigan in

  11. 44rules 06/18/2013 at 9:40 PM #

    GEt hi out of there

Weird pitching change- like ESPN had to OK it first. Sasser in for a de facto save situation.

  13. Primewolf 06/18/2013 at 9:45 PM #

We should use statistical models to help make pitching changes. J was getting shakey in last inning. Came apart this inning

Why was Avent waiting? It’s not like we have an overworked bullpen.

  15. 44rules 06/18/2013 at 9:49 PM #

Ball game. Hope I’m wrong. Clyde Austin all over again.

  16. Primewolf 06/18/2013 at 10:03 PM #

    does Sasser look sharp????

I hate it when we take those first pitch strikes. Makes no sense. Have done it all season. Aren’t needs to study the stats

Can a really smart baseball mind explain to me why it seemed like Avent is stretching his pitchers? This was a possible kill shot game with us up 1-0, and I would have had the bullpen ready in the fifth, which was already at the limit of Jernigan’s ability. He’s only thrown 30 innings all year. He did a great job but was left out and hung up to dry.

Hold em and Ratledge-Turner-Fincher will put us back where we need to be. That passed ball hurt-I know Austin would love to come up with ducks on the pond.

I’m about to loose my damn mind with “watchespn”. I get about 10 seconds of buffering for every 6 seconds of play. Now I’m not getting shit. Just a spinning circle. Missed the entire 5th just watching the POS try to load. All forms of Internet in Oklahoma including the 3G on my phone suck.

WTF? Guy can’t hit and we walk him…grrrr….

  21. 44rules 06/18/2013 at 10:22 PM #

Avent has been outcoached. I’ve watched enough Braves/Fred Gonzalez games to recognize.

    …inhoc…. internet sucks everywhere tonight….

    thunderstorms I suppose… or TWC…

I can’t decide if I’m more pissed at the game or more pissed at the technology. Either way it appears down hill from here. Hopefully the bats wake up for the pack and the pitching staff doesn’t cave in.

  24. Primewolf 06/18/2013 at 10:29 PM #

Any analysis of risk and performance would have pulled J after his shaky 4th inning. I hate to see us not making smart decisions. Hunches don’t always work.

Were our guys prepped for high fast all. Austin has struck out covsistently with same pitch.
