Wolfpack Baseball (47-14) continued down the path to Omaha Sunday night with a convincing 9-2 victory over the Tribe of William & Mary (39-24).
At the plate, Tarran Senay wasted no time in continuing his torrid post-season as he crushed a three run shot into the trees beyond right field in the first inning to give the Pack an early 3-0 lead. The blast was Senay’s 8th of the season and 2nd during the regional. He would add a 2 out 2RBI single during the Pack’s 3 run eight inning as well, giving him a nice little 2 for 5 effort with 5 RBIs on the night.
Jake Fincher (3 for 5, RBI, run) and Logan Ratledge (3 for 4, RBI, 2 runs, double, stolen base) each had three-hit nights, while Grant Clyde (2 for 5) had two of his own.
As has been the case lately for the most part, State’s pitchers showed up with their game faces on.
Freshman lefthander Brad Stone (3-2) would get the start for the Pack and earn the victory by scattering 4 hits over the course of 5.1 scoreless innings of work. He struck out 3 and walked no one.
Ryan Wilkins would work two innings in relief of Stone, yielding 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits, with 3 Ks and no BBs. He would then hand it off to Grant Sasser, who turned the lights out on the Tribe, and on the Raleigh Regional. Sasser tossed 1.2 perfect innings, striking out 3 of the 5 batters he faced to secure the victory and the Pack’s second consecutive trip into the Super Regional round.

The entire Wolfpack infield made the All-Regional team (Senay (1B), Ratledge (2B), Turner (SS), Clyde (3B)) as did Jake Fincher (RF) and of course, Carlos Rodon (P).

Along with the Pack, FSU and UVa both emerged perfect from their regionals yesterday.
VT, Clemson and Miami were all eliminated yesterday.
GT (vs Vandy, 7pm) and Carolina (vs FAU, 6pm) must both win tonight.

And the effing Oregon Ducks survived two elimination games on Sunday. They play again tonight at 9pm vs Rice. If they win, the Pack will travel to Eugene for super regionals.
If Rice prevails however, the Pack will welcome the Owls to Raleigh next weekend for the best of three supers, beginning either Friday or Saturday.
So…..Snap, Crackle and Pop, Dammit!!!!

Go Owls!!!!!
