I’m giving this a shot to see if I can bring some positive mojo to the Pack by undertaking the Live Blog duties today. If the Pack loses I promise to stay away from blogging any important games ever again. I’ll miss most of the first half of the BC/GT game but if no one watches a game does it make a sound?
Thursday’s Schedule:
No. 8 Boston College vs. No. 9 Georgia Tech, noon (Ga. Tech -2 vs. BC)
No. 5 N.C. State vs. No. 12 Virginia Tech, 2:30 p.m. (NC State -11 vs. Va. Tech)
No. 7 Maryland vs. No. 10 Wake Forest, 7 p.m. (Maryland -5.5 vs. Wake Forest)
No. 6 Florida State vs. No. 11 Clemson, 9:30 p.m. (FSU -2.5 vs. Clemson)
Game 1: GT/BC
Refs: Roger Ayers, Mike Eades, and Gary Maxwell.
1st Half
15:15 – 14-0 GT.
11:41 – 20-11 GT.
07:42 – 26-13 GT.
03:38 – 31-28 GT.
After spotting GT 15 points BC has been on a tear and they are led by the ACC ROTY Olivier Hanlan who has 21pts on 7-11 FG, 4-6 3FG.
Rebounding is an issue for both teams but more so for BC. They start grabbing more defensive rebounds and cut down on the turnovers and it’ll be a total blowout.
2nd Half
15:30 – 49-37 BC
11:46 – 56-43 BC
07:27 – 66-48 BC. BC 11-20 3FG (55%). Hanlan with 35pts 12-16 FG, 7-9 3FG & 4 Rbs.
03:14 – 77-57 BC. BC 13-23 3FG (56.5%). Hanlan has 38pts. Just 2pts shy of tying the ACCT Freshman scoring record.
Final 84-64 Boston College. Faces Miami tomorrow at Noon.
Hanlan finishes with 41pts and 5 rebounds. Breaks the ACC Tournament freshmen scoring record previously held by Harrison Barnes who had 40.
Only thing BC did wrong this game was defensive rebounding. When you win by 20 does anyone really care?

Game 2: NC State/VT (tip off approximately 2:28pm)
Refs: Kersey, Nestor, Heater
Pregame Note: Brown still has his thumb taped up.
1st Half
14:04 – 14-13 VT
10:52 – 20-19 Pack
07:36 – 24-23 Pack
03:09 – 34-27 Pack
Halftime – 38-32 Pack
Both teams are shooting well with low to moderate turnovers. The Pack is dominating the glass and that’s really helping. Don’t get me started on all the fouls that haven’t been called on VT, if they had been then we could have missed even more FT’s (Pack 7-12 FT).
Leading scorers:
VT:
Jarell Eddie 10pts
Erick Green 9pts
NCSU:
Richard Howell 14pts/3rbs
CJ Leslie 9pts/5rbs/3TO
2nd Half
15:55 – 46-38 Pack
11:09 – 59-47 Pack
VT:
Eddie: 17pts
Green: 11pts/4TO
Pack:
Howell: 20pts/6rbs
CJ/TJ: 11pts each
Wood: 10pts
Brown: 9 assists
07:26 – 63-49 Pack
03:50 – 72-55 Pack
Final 80-63
VT:
Eddie: 21pts (9-14 FG)
Green: 15pts (5-19 FG)
NCSU:
Howell: 22pts (11-13 fg), 12rbs
Leslie: 15pts, 7rbs
Wood: 13pts
Warren: 13pts
Brown: 9pts, 7rbs, 12ast, 2to
The Pack had and executed a great defensive gameplan on Green. VT just didn’t have enough without Green, who still got 15pts. Need to get rest and beat the Hoos tomorrow.
