Given BJD’s recent history with game threads I think it is a good idea to mix things up. I think we win this one by 13. The first half stays close but we pull away in the second. This starts our run to finish 11-7 in the conference.

    I’m really starting to question why I watch these games. We play so stupidly sometimes it just pisses me off to see it. CJ Leslie is having a moronic game so far. Ugh!

    CJ Leslie should be sitting the rest of this half. Period. He’s turned it over at least three times and has scored once and missed both free throws. He can’t play defense and we will be in a much better position running Clemson with a smaller lineup. Also, Clemson is playing Maryland-style mugging and not getting called for it. To be honest, Clemson should be leading by 20 by now.

    If he hadn’t swatted, he likely doesn’t get called. Unfortunately, the swat brought his forearm down across the shoulders and head. Even if there was not actual contact that is always gonna get called.

    If he goes up and puts his hand up without swatting, he likely gets the block still, but at least contests it without fouling.

    Basketball IQ 101. Of which we’re still sorely lacking at times.

    Leslie seems to be having one of his games where it is all about CJ Leslie.

    If I were Gottfried, I would sit him until he learned how to play as if he were on a team and as if the game mattered to him.

    WOW…..
    am about ready to turn off TV and listen to radio. All the violence under the basket and around it on our end leads to blood (from the guys in red) and nary a whistle. It is slowing down, but it was (and probably will be) awful.

    Brown is showing WHY we lost the games he did not play.

    Agree with comments about Lewis, but Brown will NOT have the physical endurance to run the show for the entire game. So, gotta trust Gott.

    I WILL point out that Early and Gottfried appear to be wearing shirts that are NOT WHITE and look awfully blue to me. Maybe that is in sympathy for our boys down the road. Whatever it is, we NEVER do well when Gottfried is decked out in BLUE…add in another coach and it just increases the odds of being LOUSY!

    Everybody who thinks we are going to just flip the switch better rethink. We have played 2/3 of the season like this with no improvement in our weak areas. This is who we are.

    Alpha, I can’t decide if he is doing what you suggest or trying to carry the team and just doing too much. Whatever it is, it’s not working. The rest of the team( if you can even call them that) is just as bad

    This is by far the worst we have played all year. Including Wake and Okie State. Really discouraging. I will have to write us off unless we claw back and win today.

    Everyone is down on Leslie in this game, and justifiably so. But no one has commented on Howell. He hasn’t shown up for this game, either.

    Oddly, this is Calvin’s best defensive game maybe ever.
