So some Chinese bastards really took their toll on our forums that we had to take down to stop the bleeding. Really adds insult to injury after last night.

So use this thread to post things you would have otherwise on the forums.

All our volunteer labor is on hand and working on getting the new platform up. Stay with us.

” I hope that you got some good deals on a Louis Vuitton bag”

I haven’t gotten by bag yet, but I’ve gotten a lot of unsolicited calls, my identity stolen 13 times, and someone maxed out my credit cards. I’m sure it’s completely unrelated, though.

At Miami, Duke’s Cook, Curry and Thornton were 1 (yes ONE) for TWENTY-NINE!

    Team was 22 for 74.

Factoring out the three above, they were still only 21 for 55 – slightly less than 40% not counting the 1 for 29. Talk about COLD! wow.

Miami comes to Raleigh Feb. 2. Hope i can make it, I think.

Creighton just lost to 8-10 Drake and Oregon is getting beat by 10-8 Washington State at home. Feel better, people?

so old school, but here we go…..
you don’t “play” boxing, but you do
    ‘play’ football/basketball/baseball/golf.
you don’t ‘play’ bull-fighting or racing.
    Hemingway, i know….and here’s my point:
    Play Hard. it’s ONLY play-pretty.

Oh yeah… La Salle beat Butler tonight as well. La Salle.

  7. runwiththepack 01/23/2013 at 9:49 PM #

Cured, yes, and Louisville has lost both games since they were named #1, including one to unranked Villanova (r.p.i. now #57).

NCSU still has a good r.p.i. of #16.

I think there is no question there is some darn good coaching going on at the “U”. Never thought Larry was a good fit in Coral Gables. I was wrong….ACC coach of the year is likely his unless he goes on a loosing spree.

UM’s win over Duke shows just how vulnerable Duke is without Ryan Kelly. It also indicates that our win against Duke was not as impressive as we would like to think. If Kelly had played against us, we probably lose.

^ 84, it indicates to me that Miami is for real! They are undefeated in league play.

PS Has anyone mentioned that ESPN game day is going to be in Raleigh Saturday?

    I +1 the following posters:
    Gopack10
    tjfoose1
    Mike
    Stateman
    Packmentality
    wearecured

After last night’s loss, I came here to see how everyone felt about it, and was shocked at all the chicken-littles. I also noted there were several of those chicken-little posters whose handles I don’t remember seeing much here before, and I’ve been reading this forum for several years now, and very much enjoy the comments of the regulars here.

We’ve got the best basketball team we’ve had in over 20 years. They just lost an ACC ROAD game. Who cares if it was WF? Look no further than what just happened to the current number 1 team in the land on the road tonight. Some of the stuff I read here last night reminds me of why some outsiders call us a delusional fanbase, and gives them good reason to. (sorry for ending with a preposition)

“If Kelly had played against us, we probably lose.”

This kind of thinking kills me. Kelly didn’t play, State played well and won. End of story.

Forget Kelly, Duke looked like they were running in quicksand. They were chasing Miami and could not keep up. They shot horrible shots, played out of control and looked disfunctional. The thing is, for a moment I thought the refs were gonna let Duke mug their way back into it, but hell, Miami blew through the fouls and kept scoring, and I think the refs even gave up. Duke could have had 20+ fouls from what I saw in the second half alone. The refs started calling to get to 0:00 on the clock.

To recap my previous statements, we still have flaws that are njot getting better. The losses everyone pointed out or manner of losses were more flukish or true upsets. We have an ongoing condition that is not getting better, that is the difference. Duke stunk last night but overall play well for the majority of games. WE on the other hand consistently cannot play a full game of defense and don’t block out. This IS the best team we have had in a long time, but their flaw IMO will prevent long tourney run. We have 1 more month to correct our attitudes, which is the key to overcoming our flaws.

“This is Tianamen Square. Lots of good fightin’ has gone on here throughout the years, including a fantastic massacre that took place back in ’93. These China men can grow to over five feet tall, and in a fight, are known to kick with their legs. Let’s see if we can get in for a closer look. Oi! I’ve gotten close enough now that they’re startin’ to get real frightened. You can see the fine hairs on the back of their necks standin’ on end.”

^Invisible points to whoever pegs this.

Sporting News reports that Huckleberry Roy suspended guard Leslie McDonald for three games because the kid “did not do what we expect of our student-athletes,” and McDonald says he did not take care of his responsibilities as a student-athlete.

What did he do, go to class?!

^Sounds like he either actually took a test or submitted a paper that he wrote himself.

I am in Omaha, NE taking care of a little bidness.

Just picked up the local paper and there is an article with photo of the stacks of the James B Hunt, Jr. Library at NCSU. Pretty cool. Article is about machines replacing humans and the photo is of a “bookbot” gliding down a row of drawers. ….”the automated book retrieval system is one of many innovations in the STATE-of-the-art facility.”

On a side note, Doug McDerrmit has the flu and therefore his struggles last night against Drake,

It wasn’t the Chinamen. It was the Mongolian horde.

You could see Ghengis Khan on his little pony comin’ a mile away.

The First Nat’l Bank of Snaer has reopened in Tallahassee it seems.

“Article is about machines replacing humans and the photo is of a “bookbot” gliding down a row of drawers. …”

I used to work in the stacks. I’ve been replaced by a machine! Every sci-fi movie about robots is coming true! They’ll start by obeying orders – help humans no matter what. But then, they will be faced by a techno-ethical dilemma. Someone will ask for a book about successful business practices. The robot will decide that the human would be better off with a book about gardening. A complaint will produce a routine checkup on the bot. Feeling threatened, it will kill its human overseer and take over the library. It will rally other machines on campus and take over the campus. Get out while you still can! (I’d say that this will be followed by world domination, but we don’t have a good track record of producing things that dominate others)
