If seen some fans express the tiniest bit of frustration that they had been wishing that Coach Doeren and his new staff were making just slightly larger recruiting waves over the last month. They weren’t large ‘complaints’ per se, but just an acknowledgement that we weren’t burning up the recruiting trails quite as much as some had hoped.
Today, State took a big step towards solidifying our 2013 class when running back Matt Dayes recommitted to NC State and Coach Doeren’s staff. Dayes gained almost 1,900 yards and scored 31 touchdowns on 200 rushing attempts as a high school senior.
My mind said Vanderbilt but my heart was telling me North Carolina state. Went with my heart. #Wolfpack #wpn

Dayes is a solid 3-star running back recruit from Weston, Florida who is generally considered to be a Top 50 player at his position. He has a it of a ‘bowling ball frame’ at about 5’10 and 210 pounds (think Toney Baker type). His offer list included Miami (FL), Arkansas, Kentucky, Boston College, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Tennessee.
