Shew!! NC State downs NCAA bound Virginia

Tim Brando just tweeted

NCST should be in the NCAAs! This one should get them in.

After the Wolfpack’s win today, CBSSports.com’s front page showed the following:

CBS’ Eye on Basketball blog had this:

Heading into the ACC tournament, it looked like two wins might get it done for the Wolfpack. After their win over Virginia in the quarterfinals, have they done enough to get a bid? NC State now has at least two top-50 wins, as Texas rose into that category with its win over Iowa State. A two-game sweep of Miami (Fl.) also helps. Throw in the fact the Wolfpack are 9-5 away from home – including 4-1 on neutral courts – and one can make the case for them. On the negative side are two sub-100 losses and the 2-8 record against the top 50. An upset win over North Carolina would certainly lock up a bid, but this one might do it.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Hard to put teams away when you get crappy calls with 3 min. left (ie, phantom blocking foul by Painter…an obvious charge). Nevertheless, a win, which should put us in the dance. Now, let’s surprise the ‘Holes.

My son goes to UNC and I’m heading there to bring him home for the weekend. With my Wolfpack shirt on!

We won without Woo having a great game. In fact, he scored just above his average in games that we lose. The PAck overcame the pressure, the crowd, adversity and a higher ranked foe to get the most important W of the year.

    GO STATE!!!

Everybody can suck donkey balls! Gottfather and Lutz are great. I really think Lutz is a great coach and Gott just puts the final product (recruiting, media and motivation) on the floor. We do have great coaches for a change.

    Suck it HWSNBN and Fowler!

It’s been over half a decade since I’ve this feeling.

    Feels good.

guy on ESPN2 just called Michigan State “NC State.” We’re back

Thank you, ACC officials, for having the wisdom to schedule the ACCT in Atlanta again this year. Hey, now you’ve got a State-Carolina game tomorrow, way down there, and your fan base will be way up here, watching it on tv instead of from the Greensboro Coliseum. Brilliant!

Just put the #*^*@Xing tournament back in Greensboro, where it belongs, and LEAVE it there!

As a thought, if Miami wins, that bumps our RPI again, along with our playing the Holes (and potentially winning)… could the ACC actually get 6 teams in the tourney?

Great game! GO PACK! GO GOTT!
Let’s take it to those sheep lovers!

Bahaha, that’s fantastic. And the way it should be, darnit.

Red and White rocking Atlanta, awesone first season for GOTT/STAFF/TEAM…this is what the agony of the past 20+ years has been for, turning the corner for Sweet Success…GO STATE!!!

Great win. Very satisfying. We should be in now.

Not sure if Miami stays in the top 50 even with a loss to FSU. They are on the cusp. Texas definitely stays in the top 50 even with a loss. VT is on the verge of the top 100. Would be nice if they sneaked in there.

Gminski is an ass for saying we had no top 50 wins. Those guys never do their homework.

  14. BassPacker 03/09/2012 at 5:26 PM #

I really think this has to put the Pack in the NCAA’s. Also feel like the pressure is off the team now with a bid perhaps locked up. So now all they have to do is go play, no thoughts of NCAA…JUST WIN BABY !

  15. UrbanWolf 03/09/2012 at 5:26 PM #

Gott said we’d need 11 ACC wins to get into the tournament. I know he was thinking regular season … But he now has his 11 wins.

  16. eas 03/09/2012 at 5:26 PM #

Oh…and Howell should not be allowed to dribble past 1/2 court. This is basic big man 101. Go straight up….

    Anyway, Go Pack!

  17. 74wolf 03/09/2012 at 5:27 PM #

Doesn’t Gott get a nice bonus for making the dance?

  18. STLPack01 03/09/2012 at 5:29 PM #

@74wolf: he gets a contract extension.

  19. dallas-pack 03/09/2012 at 5:29 PM #

Gott (and staff) deserve nice bonus if they make the NCAAT!

  20. eas 03/09/2012 at 5:31 PM #

Yes he does. He will also get a nice bonus in general after this season! Thank you Debbie for seeing something special in this guy. Just wish he used the bench a little more….

  21. state73 03/09/2012 at 5:33 PM #

Some pack fans need to cut Wood some slack on his defense. He was great on defense today. Lets go get the holes tomorrow.

  22. lush 03/09/2012 at 5:33 PM #

Am I the only one here in ATL? If so, I’ll do my best to make sure the crowd favors red and white tommorow.

Time to celebrate. Team should be here soon, then off to two urban licks for dinner.

    WOLFPACK IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

Lorenzo Brown: 4-5 from the field, 15 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds
Calvin Leslie: 9-11 from the field, 19 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists

They’ve come a long way since last year.
