Pack/Holes “House Money” Game Thread

Much less anxious today, just want the Pack to go out there and give it their best shot. Let the chips fall where they may.

As I said before the BC game, the old adage of “it’s hard to beat the same team three times” is a load of BS. Unfortunately, that works both ways. Henson is out, though…

A few interesting points of note:

* Today is Jim Valvano’s birthday. He would have been 66 years old today.

* Tomorrow is the 32nd anniversary of Black Sunday when Duke and UNC both lost in the NCAA Tournament in Reynolds Coliseum to Penn and St. John’s, respectively.

* It was in the ACC Tournament EXACTLY 25 years ago that Jim Valvano’s NC State swept through the Big Four (Duke, Wake, UNC-CH) to win the ACC Championship in Landover, Maryland. UNC was UNDEFEATED in the ACC that year and ranked #1 in the country.

Why save that ball, I didn’t think we touched it last

  2. Rick 03/10/2012 at 1:55 PM #

Zo should know better than to save it under your own goal

They haven’t called feet or bouncing ball on the endline all tournament. Still woulda been Hole ball, but the action shoulda stopped.

Seeing lots of tendencies so far in this game.

I think the missed jumpers are a result of fatigue. You don’t get the same lift after playing two straight games. They need to manage the game a bit.

We are getting good looks inside but nobody is hitting the offensive boards besides Howell.

By the way, why is Calvin out?

  8. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 1:58 PM #

Calvin needs more touches and time to deploy the Dutch enforcer.

Wood needs to work harder to get open. We need a big game from him today.

    Flop acting!

  11. 1.21 Jigawatts 03/10/2012 at 1:59 PM #

Without Woo today we need Williams or Johnson to pick up the slack.

    What a play by Calvin

  13. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 1:59 PM #

See…just get Calvin the ball, by any means necessary. His legs are just fine.

haha They call that a walk but nothing on Duke’s Rivers stupid move…

I’m sure Calvin was out to try to save his legs while we had a slight lead. I’m going to guess Coach is planning to take this one to the wire…

    Calvin!!!

  22. Rick 03/10/2012 at 2:02 PM #

Man Zeller gets that ball up quickly

  23. GolenbockHater 03/10/2012 at 2:02 PM #

Howell, notice Zel didn’t have to take a dribble there.

  24. ScottieJ2000 03/10/2012 at 2:03 PM #

WOW! I think Jimmy V is guiding the ball perfectly for the rebounds for us.

Give them credit, Holes are surprisingly defending very well. The glass is where Henson’s void is huge.

    There’s a joke in there somewhere. 🙂
