Pack/Holes “House Money” Game Thread

Much less anxious today, just want the Pack to go out there and give it their best shot. Let the chips fall where they may.

As I said before the BC game, the old adage of “it’s hard to beat the same team three times” is a load of BS. Unfortunately, that works both ways. Henson is out, though…

A few interesting points of note:

* Today is Jim Valvano’s birthday. He would have been 66 years old today.

* Tomorrow is the 32nd anniversary of Black Sunday when Duke and UNC both lost in the NCAA Tournament in Reynolds Coliseum to Penn and St. John’s, respectively.

* It was in the ACC Tournament EXACTLY 25 years ago that Jim Valvano’s NC State swept through the Big Four (Duke, Wake, UNC-CH) to win the ACC Championship in Landover, Maryland. UNC was UNDEFEATED in the ACC that year and ranked #1 in the country.

We are going to be nasty in the ncaat when a game is called straight up. Congratulations ACC you got the holes a #1 seed just like you wanted.

84, you are kidding right? the two quick fouls on CJ Leslie that got him out of the game (with more than 5 minutes to go, in case someone bring up the fact the zeller also got fouled out) is all you need to see to know that the refs robbed us. I don’t know if it’s part of the whole KH affair, a corporate decision from the ACC to have two number one seeds in UNC and Duke, or whatever, but it was pathetic. If those egocentric assh*les in black and white were a little bit smarter, they would have called a foul on the last hail mary play, since Howell was going to miss one anyway. Then they could have said: “see, we called a fair game, you missed your chance to win”.

Did Gottfried make any mention in the press conference of the terd-style Michaelangelo the refs crafted today?

^^^Well said Pack Mentality. I wouldn’t use the terminology but agree with every word of it because it’s true.

You know those refs went to the locker room and said “we showed them”. If you think there isn’t a plan, conspiracy, whatever you want to call it after what you saw today from refs with a tribute on shoes 2 days ago – you are truly delusional.

This is a bit of trivia and also a remeberance, in honor of Jimmy V.’s birthday.

I have both the Audio Book and the Book; They gave me a Lifetime Contract and then Declared me DEAD.

I was working out prior to the game and listened to a few chapters. V. just sat down in front of the mike with a notecard for each chapter. The Chapter names and numbers are about the only alike between the Hard Copy and his “audio”.

It is PURE Jimmy V. He even “miffed” the title of the book.

He was asked, at his FIRST NCSU Presser (the day they introduced him) what his plan was for beating Dean Smith. His comment still is chilling and brings a tear. A reporter asked the question, Coach, how you plan to beat Dean Smith?

Valvano’s answer, on the tape, was “I don’t expect to beat him. I expect to outlive him. That is not turn out to be correct either”

If you RE-READ that and realize that he did this tape in 1991, that was a Chilling prediction.

We miss you Jimmy V. RIP

    BTW,

Coach G.’s media handling and his sideline enthusiasm remind me more of Coach V. than any other coach we have had since then.

We were robbed of this game and the Duke game. We would have won both by 20 points had the refs not thrown the game.

The ACC is run by crooks.

Off the topic, but for the love of god, someone PLEASE tell that kid at Kentucky to shave a split in that monobrow!

Hopefully we can play some NCAAT games without ACC officiating.

  16. gumby 03/10/2012 at 4:35 PM #

The tide is NOT turning. That is just the receding waters if the bullshit tsunami the ACC gives us.

  17. gumby 03/10/2012 at 4:38 PM #

The tide is NOT changing. That is just the receding waters of the “anything for the blues” tsunami from the ACC

Speaking of … does anyone remember that Gottfried took an ACC crew with him to Stanford this year? Here’s to Gottfried never asking for an ACC crew AGAIN!

Okay guys we got to stop bashing homos. I know State fans that are homos, and they feel like the rest of us, in regards to the BS officiating. Homos have nothing to do with this. It is officiating. But since Duke lost today, I would say it is more of a UNC bias. So we should all stay in the ACC, and have the holes removed, and give them a league of thier own, and let them take the officiating crew with them.
