Pack/Holes “House Money” Game Thread

Much less anxious today, just want the Pack to go out there and give it their best shot. Let the chips fall where they may.

As I said before the BC game, the old adage of “it’s hard to beat the same team three times” is a load of BS. Unfortunately, that works both ways. Henson is out, though…

A few interesting points of note:

* Today is Jim Valvano’s birthday. He would have been 66 years old today.

* Tomorrow is the 32nd anniversary of Black Sunday when Duke and UNC both lost in the NCAA Tournament in Reynolds Coliseum to Penn and St. John’s, respectively.

* It was in the ACC Tournament EXACTLY 25 years ago that Jim Valvano’s NC State swept through the Big Four (Duke, Wake, UNC-CH) to win the ACC Championship in Landover, Maryland. UNC was UNDEFEATED in the ACC that year and ranked #1 in the country.

I know from someone who works at the conference that at least the low-level employees are pulling for Duke/UNC final. Thats all I can say.

How long can we walk on thin ice before it cracks?

The team is not folding. I think they’ve learned a thing or two this year.

Time for GOwell to foul out on a charge

I’m surprised it’s a 1 point game. Hell, we’d be up 15 points if not for the refs.

    Unreal
    It is like a joke

Bullshit call…players falling down does not equal foul…

  15. SaccoV 03/10/2012 at 3:25 PM #

Refs, feeling lonely and unappreciated, calling the flop!!

Brown just wouldn’t give it up and then lost control. He’s good for that about 3-4 times a game.

  17. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 3:25 PM #

Fighting so hard…and they call a foul on Lo for turning the fuck around. Absolute nonsense.

  18. ADVENTUROO 03/10/2012 at 3:26 PM #

what kind of a BS or CS foul was than called on Brown?

  19. MP 03/10/2012 at 3:26 PM #

House money game. Kinda like trying to win against the house if you ask me.

The revenge of Hess has begun

Bureau, I felt the same thing this morning thinking about the game. We’d have to be up ten with two minutes to go to have a shot to win, because UNC was going to get 15 more FTs and 7 more possessions than us guaranteed!

  22. BureauOfMines 03/10/2012 at 3:27 PM #

The tarhole fans are sitting there quietly. Most teams fold and roll over in the face of this be we aren’t.

  23. coach13 03/10/2012 at 3:27 PM #

Wood and Williams picked a great gaem to suck like holy hell.

  24. Gene 03/10/2012 at 3:27 PM #

UNC falls down it’s a foul on the opponent, even if there’s not much contact…

Incidental contact needs to be added to the vocabulary of ACC refs…

  25. GolenbockHater 03/10/2012 at 3:27 PM #

Hmm. getting close refs, nobody left to call a foul on. Don’t worry, they’ll call a technical foul around the 1:30 mark.
