Pack/Castrated Turkeys Game Thread

It’s the 5 seed (against BC Thursday night) or the 7 seed (Wake). Sadly, seeds 4 and 6 are now out of reach.

But going over .500 in league play has always been the highest and best realistic goal for this team. It would be a major accomplishment, and earn MG my “vote” for ACC Coach of the Year. So a win makes this season an unqualified success.

Unlike Wesnesday, I don’t feel especially good going into this game. VPI is playing much better, though their record doesn’t show it. That’s a dangerous combination for a fired up team looking to play spoiler. We shall see. Remember, I’m not a great prognosticator.

I Love these ESPN Blind Test. So inconsistent in their comparisons. Bottom of screen they say “vs. 101 RPI and below” yet they only show vs Top 50 record when they show us but when they compare others they show Top 100 record. Also they keep showing different RPI no. for State.

I’m not saying we deserve to be in right now but their “Blind Test” are laughable because they can’t stay consistent with their analysis.

I’m excited about the tournament. I wonder when was the last time we had 20 wins going into the ACC tournament.

I can’t believe we won today.

I’m so grateful to VPI for playing like terrible assholes today.

…Coach speaks highly of CALVIN in postgame .. politely challenged Wood to bring his best game every night AND ‘suggests’ we are in the Dance unless we give the ‘committee’ a reason…to leave us out.

We have definitely Gott something special.

The Pack ends up tied for 4th in the league, is that right? Whatever the seeding ends up being next week, what a huge improvement from the cellar to the top half. Congratulations to the players and coach Gottfried.

At the beginning of the season, I never thought we would finish as high as 4th place. Great job, ‘Pack! We definitely need 2 wins in the ACC’s to make the NCAA’s and I think they can do it.

    ” Kersey, sign ”

Yep. Not quite a chip off the ol’ block, but can’t be too far behind his old man.

Someday I might tell a story or two ’bout ol’ Jess Kersey if ya wanna hear ’em.

I had more than a couple of experiences with that guy.

“6th seed would have been much better.”

Yeah, but what can you do?

Beat BC and UVa and hope the forces of evil are at rest on Saturday and we can beat UNC-Ch.

Jigiwat in the game they were showing our rpi being 58 on post game show it was
    63.

Just went to real-time rpi and they had us at 58…it was updated last night. No idea where 63 and 64 number is from. It’s obvious that journalists don’t deal in a data driven world…they’d understand the importance.of consistency.

Oh yeah stanford beat cal tonight.

Stanford beating Cal is HUGE. That should put the Trees into the top 100, which takes away one “bad loss” as those are defined by losses to 100+ teams.
