Getting into the NCAA tournament is the hard part for North Carolina State.

Winning a first game? Not that difficult, apparently.

Richard Howell doubled his average with 22 points, and 11th-seeded North Carolina State used its muscle inside and sticky defense to upset San Diego State 79-65 on Friday in a second-round East Regional game.

    GREAT coaching job today. Well called timeouts. Somehow they managed make a 7 man rotation look like a 9 man rotation. Just a great job. As for the late dunk, I would prefer to not see it, but their starters were still in the game, and they were still pressing, so it’s fair game as far as I’m concerned.

    Gott is now talking about our blew neighbors. He sees everything about neighbors as positives in terms of recruiting and exposure not only because of their successes but also because of our past past successes(“remember we have 3 final fours and 2 national championships here”). I wonder how many reporters thought, “Really? You must be kidding us.”)

    I am betting he let the excitement of the moment overwhelm him, and he didn’t think about the sportsmanship aspect. Otherwise, totally out of character.

    What a freaking great day. Happy as Hellllll. Didn’t like CJW’s last dunk with no one around but don’t give a damn right now. We know Howell and CJL would likely have a good day but they made things look easy today. Some beautiful dunks all around by both teams. We got sloppy with D a couple time, esp in the first half.
    I don’t know if I want to play Belmont or GT. I just know I want UNC to lose.

    Creighton really needed to call a timeout before the shitty foul shooter got hacked. Give the ball to McDermott and have him hold it like a newborn. 2 seconds left, Alabama’s shot will win or lose it.

    Also, I have to say I love the way the game was called. So far most all games in the tournement I’ve watched have been called loose and that’s a big deal with our team. Of course, even in a loosely called game Howell still commits some really dumb fouls.
