Friday Night Revelry/Getting Above the “First Four” Thread

Now that the Pack is 99 percent in the dance…can we skip the Tues/Wed preliminaries? Yes, if everything breaks right.

St Bonaventure’s win helped us, for sure. A Miami win ensures us of 4 Top 50 wins for the season. The hot mess that is the Pac 12 tourney rages onward.

Some games we can now just watch for fun, as we let our heart rates get back to normal. Go Hokies!!

Ole Miss up 1 with 2:19 left. Dayton and SDSU up in first halves.

  2. BJD95 03/09/2012 at 10:10 PM #

Vols with just a shade of breath left…

Weird looking white dude banks in a Vol three and OT is on its way.

  4. STLPack01 03/09/2012 at 10:17 PM #

    OT for Tenn/Miss

McBee with the 30 foot turn around bank in three for the Vols … ughh

If Xavier losses then we need Saint Louis to win the tournament so another spot is not open. If Xavier drops out of the bubble but Mass or SB wins the tournament then it means nothing to us. If Xavier drops out of the bubble and Saint Louis wins then that opens up another spot for us.

^It would be best if Saint Louis won the A-10 tourny

There’s a full moon tonight here at the beach…. Jupiter and Venus are as close to each other as ever… #1 ‘Cuse goes down… #1 Kansas goes down, could that be a trend…..

Let you know about 3 tomorrow afternoon….

F the NCAA tournament… just beat Carolina.

Too many fans counting us out in tomorrows game. We are not the same team that we were in the first match up or even the second. I like the team we are becoming. I hope Gott plays them like he did at home. Make them beat us by shooting lights out. If our bigs stay in the game and don’t foul out I give us a fighting chance. We all know the league wants another blue match up for tv ratings but frankly, f**k them. I want to see us beat the cheaters and then the dookies. I’d give ol roys left nut to have Vandenburg back right now with his minutes and fouls to give.

I think Lunardi has Ole Miss as a team that could get some consideration by the committee, but I still think it’s better for them to win than TN.

Ole Miss pulls it out in OT. Another one bites the dust!

  12. STLPack01 03/09/2012 at 10:39 PM #

Dayton leads Xavier 38-28 at the half. SDSU neck in neck with CSU.

Looks like Ole Miss will topple Tenn. Dayton up over Xavier, Oregon St. leading Arizona, SDSU up 4 on Colorado St..

I think Colorado St. is in regardless, but Tenn and Xavier would be sweating heavily.

Arizona likely needs to win the Pac 12 tournament (just like Oregon St. for that matter). Still, go Beavers and Cal Bears.

  14. STLPack01 03/09/2012 at 10:43 PM #

Xavier and CSU losing is good for us because it helps us get off that 12 line.

  15. jwoerner89 03/09/2012 at 10:44 PM #

Other than Michigan who has Virginia beat that is considered a good win? Just a quick glance at their record and SOS I would think they belong squarely on the bubble after today.

  16. ScottieJ2000 03/09/2012 at 10:45 PM #

Only problem is that now Ole Miss becomes a bubble team… but we are pretty even with them I guess.

I think Colorado State gets in even with a loss tonight.

The Durand Scott situation blows. No way they can pull this out without him on the floor. FSU will win by 15+.

  18. STLPack01 03/09/2012 at 10:49 PM #

Again, we want CSU and Xavier to lose not so much because it helps us get in, but because it helps us get further in and off that 12 line.

Miami not looking so hot … I wish their Rpi would stay/be Top 50, but doesn’t look favorable.

  20. ScottieJ2000 03/09/2012 at 10:55 PM #

Will even just playing FSU help Miami with their RPI since FSU has a RPI of 22?

  21. WeAreCured 03/09/2012 at 10:56 PM #

Did the Canes know this was coming (Scott’s suspension)?

  22. WeAreCured 03/09/2012 at 10:59 PM #

Scottie: I would think that with three teams on the Canes’ heels in the RPI winning and more than likely jumping them (State, Ole Miss, and Cincy), they wouldn’t be able to get under 50.

  23. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 11:06 PM #

I don’t think merely playing (and losing) to Fla St. on a neutral court carries enough weight to boost Miami’s Rpi.

I would come out loose as a goose and give it all I had. Bend but don’t break. Take the shot if you have it. He that hesitates is lost would be my motto. Take the fight to them. I would tell them that every possession must have CJL in it. See if he can’t score 40 points. Tell Wood to light it up. Lo needs to drive the lane and take threes. Once the Heels get up by 20 its very very hard to ever come back from that. With a little luck McAdoo doo will have to take Henson’s place.
