Afternoon/Evening Bubble Watch

Oregon State leads Washington inside of 40 seconds left. Alabama has choked up a big lead and is tied with lowly South Carolina.

Feeling now like tomorrow’s tilt with the Hoos will be our play-in game.

If Mississippi State loses, think we definitely control our own destiny tomorrow. Drexel fans can breathe easier as well 🙂

If you look at the SI.com box score for IS v TX, the fouls are the difference. NOW MAYBE there was a LOT of fouling at the end. But in the end, IS had better percentages in all categories. However, TX was whistled for only 12 versus 21 for IS. IS had MORE 3’s and one more regular fg. It is over, so whatever will be will be.

We need to beat UVA. That is what we can control.

What an abortion of a game this USF-ND game is.

    USF basketball fever: Catch it.

Look bro’s, we beat BC…if we don’t beat Virginia we don’t deserve to go anywhere but back to Raleigh for a home N.I.T. game. It’s Virginia, not the Chicago Bulls, had em beat in Raleigh.

let’s stop being losers and be winners. GO TERPS!!!!!!!

I think USF is in regardless, but I’m rooting against them on principle: their “style” is disgraceful. They don’t have a single player averaging in double figures. That missed layup-missed FT-stupid foul sequence was so LOL-worthy.

Good day so far for us, becomes a great day is UGa hangs on.

  7. BJD95 03/09/2012 at 12:10 AM #

No kidding. I would sure be glad to face USF (aesthetics aside) in the First Four, or Notre Dame on Th/Fr.

F.Y.I. nation, we owned Miami in Coral Gables. (just saying!)

The various “bracketologists” are mostly worthless, but I think Jerry Palm at CBS is probably the best. He had us as the second team out going into today which was probably right. He doesn’t do stupid stuff like put us behind Tennessee and Drexel. We might be in his field tomorrow, meaning we’ll stay there if we beat UVA.

Georgia trying to blow it. Lead down to 5.

^^^^^ I’m using CBS too. Take out NW and Washington and we are in! Let’s beat Virginia!

I think USF is probably in pretty safely, but ughhhh …

Of course, you never know. Their profile is not great at all, and their style of play – my eyes are bleeding.

  12. tvp1 03/09/2012 at 12:29 AM #

Hot damn, looks like UGa will hang on. Goodbye, Bulldogs.

Hell, we may avoid the dreaded “first four” with just a win tomorrow.

  13. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 12:31 AM #

Stephen Bardo is putting us in even before the Uva game, so we’ve got that going for us 🙂

Looks like Miss St. is going down. I don’t see any way they are in. Numbers and profile are awful and closed extremely poorly.

  14. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 12:32 AM #

Agree w/ tvp, win tomorrow and I’d be extremely confident.

All the dominoes are falling down for us to make it. Just one more to fall in 14 hours! Let’s go State!

  16. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 12:36 AM #

    Let’s go Buff-a-loes

  17. ScottieJ2000 03/09/2012 at 12:39 AM #

I’m not sold on South Florida. Winning against Villanova does nothing for them. They really needed the win tonight but considering what has transpired with other bubble teams… I still think they make it. If it is us against them for that last spot then I at least like our shot assuming we win against Virginia.

As long as Colorado doesn’t make a little run in their tournament then yes! Let’s go buffaloes!

    re: Northwestern

As the game was ending my wife came home and I explained my conflicting feelings. She said “Well, everyone wants to go to the tournament, but they all can’t. There’s always next year.”

    Made me feel much better.

  19. bluelena69 03/09/2012 at 1:14 AM #

Don’t feel bad, I was a Freshman for Les’ first year and when I graduated, it was Sid’s last year. Talk about a tortuous stretch of basketball 😉

  20. MrPlywood 03/09/2012 at 1:23 AM #

Lunardi now has NW out but STILL ahead of NCSU. And he’s got WA as the first of the “last four in”. ?

  21. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 2:03 AM #

Well, Colorado is promptly choking away it’s game against Oregon. Boo.

  22. wufpup76 03/09/2012 at 2:13 AM #

Whew … Colorado rallies late and knocks off Oregon.

    It’s lining up, hopefully.

Hope Cal wins this tournament and the Pac 12 is a one bid league.

After last night’s (mostly) beneficial bracketological offerings, BJD better sacrifice a live chicken on the treadmill to reverse mojo the #NCStateSh!t that is most assuredly already lurking the mean streets of ATL, just waiting for the opportunity to become the great equalizer.

  24. Astral Rain 03/09/2012 at 7:04 AM #

Texas is now a top 50 win right?

    Solves that problem.

I think Miami winning or NCSU winning gets us in today.

Both winning means no play-in game.

That said, I don’t think we have to play on Sunday now.

Great Thursday for the Pack! Now we need a great Friday.
