ACC to disband the ACC basketball tournament. Annual Duke/UNC third time around game announced.

They might as well make it official. That was beyond bias. It was outright crooked. Karl Hess got his revenge.

If you don’t follow our twitter feed then you really need to check it out. SFN was ALL OVER many of the local and national media’s admittance of ACC officiating bias and incompetence today. Link to our timeline to scroll through.

Even the national media saw it. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bubblewatch

the last eight of which came without its best player, C.J. Leslie, who fouled out on a massive mistake by the NCSU coaching staff — and one that received the worst end of a universally bad officiating performance by the ACC referees

playing UNC close to the final buzzer, and getting the wrong end of a couple key calls (the refs were bad for both teams, but there’s little question NC State felt a lion’s share of the pain)

    FUUUUUUCK YOU VITALE. FUUUUUUUUCK YOOOOOOOUUUUU!!!!!!!!!

Ah, and yet again, we feel the ‘joy’ of zebra sodomy. Getting tired of this crap. What do we need to do to get into the sec?

  4. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 4:28 PM #

Buddy of mine called from the road after living the game. Said every Carolina fan he saw going out apologized. Even the Hole fans don’t want to win that way.

  5. Manu Ginobili 03/10/2012 at 4:28 PM #

^ Khan, that’s exactly the point. Despite the fact that CJ Williams and Wood were a no show today, that we turned the ball over on the last possession, that we missed 200 free throws, we could have won the game if not for those fucking refs. Fouling out Leslie with 8 minutes to go on two phantom calls is all you need to see. There are 20 examples like that in the second half alone.

  6. TLeo 03/10/2012 at 4:28 PM #

Vitale is a prick who thinks the whole world revolves around the two blews. I hope FSU does beat Duke and then goes in with their big guys and pounds the hell out the ‘holes.
Surely there are other schools who are just as tired of this crap as we are. We need to all pull out of this crooked conference and form another without the holes and pukes.

A “buddy” of mine on Facebook told NCSU fans to stop being whiners.

This game made me furious, we got screwed on a lot of calls. But let’s look forward to the NCAA tourney and huge amounts of talent coming in next year. We’re gonna beat their faces into the ground mercilessly next year. No mercy. Go Pack!

  9. Rick 03/10/2012 at 4:34 PM #

    wolfy,
It will not matter. The ACC will go to whatever means necessary to get UNC and Duke to win. We have seen it.

We are fighting an uphill battle.

From comments above, Hole fans always fall into 2 categories, 1) decent people that know BS is going and don’t like it 2) complete classless assholes that deny all reality.

  11. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 4:34 PM #

Why couldn’t Henson have just played so they beat us with no drama. I hate this feeling sooooooo much. I can take losing fair and square. Most of us can (Lord knows Pack fans have adequate practice taking a loss), go back and read the post-game after they beat us in raleigh.

  12. Wulfpack 03/10/2012 at 4:35 PM #

I, likewise, received a text from a good buddy of mine who happens to be an ardent UNC supporter. He said the refs, though bad on both ends, really screwed us. Only a blind man could otherwise. JOBBED.

On to the NCAAs. Most likely the play-in round. I will take it. Great job, Gott!

Gottfried: “That’s a charge!” Ref Brian Dorsey: “Shut your #$%^&& ass up!”

This needs to be repeated over and over, everyone needs to see it. Adam smith confirms it’s true on Twitter. He says the word before “ass” started with an “F”

  14. choppack1 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

I thought a huge call was the call against wood on Barnes when we were up 1. That was a touch call and it looked to me like Barnes walked right before it.

If the ref really said that to gott he shouldn’t be allowed to officiate in a legit conference….then again this is the acc.

  15. Rick 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

” I can take losing fair and square. Most of us can (Lord knows Pack fans have adequate practice taking a loss), go back and read the post-game after they beat us in raleigh.”

I said that in the game thread. I abhor losing by outright cheating. Win fair and square or do not bother playing the game.
There is no reason to have the tournament when the outcome is predetermined.

  16. Rochester 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

If Leslie comes back and Henson/Barnes go, we are No. 1 in the conference next year. At least on paper. Until the refs get involved.

  17. packpowerfan 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

85, I hope Gott takes the two big screw jobs he got this year, and rams them back down Roy and K’s throat next year. There is a reason I am not a coach, not so much the lack of intricate knowledge of the college game, but more along the lines that I would have literally scalped someone before going to my press conference. Bobby Knight ain’t got s**t on me…if I were a coach.

  18. wilmwolf80 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

As angry and upset I am over the outcome of the game, I think we as State fans need to concentrate on congratulating our boys for the resolve and heart that they showed today and this year. Yeah, we got jobbed at the end of the game, but what else is new? The staff did a heckuva job taking a team that was under-peforming and uninspired last year, and showing good improvement in just a year. Really really proud of the team, and I hope the fans in Raleigh show up to show their appreciation when the team gets back.

  19. BJD95 03/10/2012 at 4:36 PM #

I just sent the Deems May tweet to a Hole fan friend, and he said he agreed completely. This crap is ruining the league. I wouldn’t want this kind of nonsense even if it worked in our favor. Nobody who believes in fair play and decent sportsmanship would.

  20. CincyPack 03/10/2012 at 4:37 PM #

I’m at the game. A Carolina fan started yelling, “call it both ways ref” in the 2nd half. I think we had 9 fouls on us and they had just gotten their 5th. Same guy starts talking later, and I quickly noted that I actually went to NCSU and didn’t simply buy a T-shirt and a ticket. He then replied with, “I went to college too.” When I asked where, he admitted it was App State. Such a large bandwagon they ride…

  21. Rochester 03/10/2012 at 4:37 PM #

If the NCAA is going to investigate point shaving they should skip the Auburn kid and zero in on the ACC officials. That’s where the real travesty is.

  22. TLeo 03/10/2012 at 4:39 PM #

I wonder if anybody can really verify the comment the official made to Gottfried after complaining about a no called charge? I think it was Dorsey who reportedly told Gott to “shut your ##$%$ up. I hope if someone actually heard that and can verify it, it would make it’s way into the public and help show the world what crooked a-holes these officials are.

  23. statemech 03/10/2012 at 4:40 PM #

^ TLeo, it happened and is confirmed. Everyone needs to be aware of this, absolutely disgraceful.

  24. eas 03/10/2012 at 4:40 PM #

Kahn…you are right on Wood and CJW. They were non factors today. CJW has been absent from offense for the last 4-5 games (minus the end of 1/2 shot yesterday).

Good thing is I think we all truly feel times are changing with the Gottfather. We can already compete with the “blues” with what we have now.

Thank you to all the big name coaches who were too big of a $ussy to compete against the blues and refused us. We now have balls again and so does our AD….

  25. JeremyH 03/10/2012 at 4:40 PM #

You guys are funny. You take down Fowler and you think you have got what it takes to take down the ACC? Sincerely, good luck.
