    This halftime deficit really has nothing to do with the officiating and everything to do with our passive and lackluster play. We get fouls called when we’re in transition and when we’re attacking the basket. We did neither in the first half and just took jump shots.

    It starts on defense. For us to get out and run, we have to force stops and get steals. We did neither in the first half. We didn’t help or rotate, just reached, and watched Clemson drive down the lane again and again. Heck, we didn’t even hold our arms up when we switched to the zone!

    I do like Scott Wood, but he’s in a bad, bad slump. When looking at plus/minus data, it can be tricky if a player logs so many minutes in games where a team lost. Did the team stink because he logged so many, or did his plus/minus look bad because he was in? The Roland Rating helps with that because it measures what happens when he wasn’t in to compare against it.

    When looking at that, in the last 3 games, the team’s actually been a little better when Wood wasn’t in the game. Alex Johnson on the other hand has a modest +1 Pts or so average on +/-, but the team is 13 points per game worse when he’s not in. Simply put, Alex needs some of Scott’s minutes.

    I think because he’s a white shooter from Indiana everyone naturally assumes he’s a smart basketball player, but I’ve never seen anyone accuse Wood of having a high basketball IQ.

    Are you denying that 5 points wasn’t spotted to Clemson in the 1st half?

    We’re the only team in the league that gets called for a travel when there was clearly no traveling. Seriously, who else does that happen to?

    What a sequence. Phantom loose ball foul gives them a three. Wood with a wide open miss. Botched rebound for a slam. Awful
