Game Thread – Pack/Deacs Redux

As the Pack looks to break out of a serious lull…you couldn’t ask for better than a home game vs. Wake Forest. The first matchup was a beatdown of epic proportions. It was clear to me that the Pack had completely figured out how to obliterate the Deacs’ high school junk offensive sets. I don’t think they have a Plan B. We shall see at 1 pm.

11/17 from three now I think. Unreal.

    Pretty shot from CJW

You have to get on shooters early and not let them get hot.
Basketball is such a mental game, once they feel it, it is too late

Yet we still have a pretty solid lead. That’s progress.

Calvin with the coast to coast. Nice

  6. wufpup76 02/04/2012 at 3:17 PM #

Leslie should’ve given it up, but I’m damn happy for him.

Calvin on a white dude in transition – just not fair.

Williams has one of the best in between shots in college.
    It is a lost art.

I hate that song but am glad they are rubbing in on Wake

Way to pull away guys. At least that’s what she said.

CJW is the man when he runs that curl to the FT line.

Against a good team that’d be a turnover. Leslie needs to give it up to Brown and get it back.

“Efficient” overdose for CJ Williams. It is starting to rival “Wood is from Indiana”. All time champion, “Grundy has long arms”.

AJ doing good job as PG, but I was really hoping he would resist the temptation to shoot the ball. Fortunately he’s only taken one shot today so far. And yes, of course he missed it.

You could pretty much vote for any of the starting 5 for player of the game today. I’m going with Williams, but all 5 really got it done today.

Tip of the hat to AJ for some much needed quality minutes today. Got to get Painter re-focused.

AJ has historically been a decent shooter. He made more threes than Wood last year.
He is ins a tough slump

    Gene,

I think Leslie recognized who was in front of him. It is hard to criticize him for taking advantage of a clear mismatch though I cringe when he tries to dribble too much.

The ‘rainbow’ touch has worked well for Calvin today.

  18. BJD95 02/04/2012 at 3:24 PM #

Still some drama left…the spread was 13.

  19. Rick 02/04/2012 at 3:26 PM #

Bzekzubub really call a TO down 11 with one minute left?

  20. wufpup76 02/04/2012 at 3:28 PM #

Well … there goes the spread

  21. Lunatic Fringe 02/04/2012 at 3:29 PM #

BJD, Refs wanted to ensure that they were under spread with last minute foul call for FTs for WF. 🙂

Please – no ‘Not our rival’ chants.

  23. Rick 02/04/2012 at 3:30 PM #

UVA down 3 with the ball 34 secs left

  24. wufpup76 02/04/2012 at 3:31 PM #

Turn it over to channel 50 – UVa down 3 with the ball against FSU

  25. Texpack 02/04/2012 at 3:31 PM #

Workmanlike performance. 3 pt defense is the only thing you could really complain about today. Everything else was very nicely done.
