If we want to have a chance of making the tournament we need this game. It will be a game of wills. Whichever team can impose their will on the other will win this game. We need a high scoring game.

    We have to play much better defense in the second half and take better care of the ball. This one is not lost by any stretch, but the defense MUST be better. Five missed FTs didn’t help us either.

    Time to regroup. This second half is gigantic for our tourney chances. Win and we are right in the mix. Lose and we fall a few steps back of the window looking in. It would also make it a virtual necessity that we beat FSU, UNC and/or Duke (probably 2 of the 3). Awfully tall order. Come on, Pack. Man up.

    I’m an old out of shape white guy with a cold beer in one hand, and my ball sack in the other, but even I can see the obvious answer here: go box and one on Scott, then watch those white boys shit themselves trying to get open.

    Hopefully Gott can get them on track in the second half. Need to play smarter ball. I’m impressed with the rebounding though. As said earlier, we need to play better D and hope some of their freakish shots quit falling. Can we ever have a career night against an opponent instead of the other way around?

    Need to draw some fouls early in this second half. That is our best chance to erase the defecit. And Virginia’s shooting has to cool off, right? (same thing I thought in the Ga. Tech game)

    CJ Leslie has been a better distributor of the ball then Brown. Fact is truly stranger then fiction.

    So close to being a good team…and yet so far…

    I really wish Brown would look to attack in the lane more. His vertical can get above the defense.

    Just curious why a few of our Freshman no longer get playing time. They could provide a few minutes and they can actually shoot.

    Sidenote: Texas lost (again) today to Baylor. They are 13-8, 3-5 and sit in a 3-way tie in 6th place in the Big 12.

    It doesn’t look like they’re running any plays for Wood. I haven’t seen one screen set for him, but I might have missed it while I was banging my head on the wall. It’s obvious the strategy is to pound them inside, which is fine. But as long as they’re hitting every single shot, it really doesn’t matter what our strategy is.

    7 points is like 15 points with our inability to shoot from the outside. Also, I think our free throw shooting improvement has leveled off slightly.

    That play on Brown has to be a call one way or the other. Too much contact to call nothing. But they are ACC refs.
