    What a pathetic display…I’m just curious; how can he make the leap from “My Grandmother had a PhD” to “I did nothing wrong”?

    Already reviewed by University’s outside counselor (former NCAA investigator) and they were clean

    And McAdoo’s paper didn’t have any plagiarism in it, either.

    Release the records, Butch. WE will determine if they’re “clean” or not.

    Giving his other family members resume is just amazing. Who give a shi$ and how does that mean “He” cares? His grandmothers phd does not mean he is smart or cares about education. Only what he does matters and he was busted.

    I still can’t believe he mentioned his family’s education. This guy is an idiot

    As many on this site have said before, “this is the gift that keeps on giving”. BFMD has added more fuel to the dissension among the various Tarhole camps. Of course, he points a condemning finger directly at Thorpe. He basically indicts the entire academic and administrative structure. What a guy. What a piece of a man. However, whether you believe him vs the NCAA, Thorpe, other head coaches; that place is a mess. One more thing, him bragging about being a HS biology teacher reminded me of a couple of football coaches that taught at my old HS. The brighter students that interacted with those mental midgets could usually tie them up in a cerebral headlock in a minute. They were experts at operating film projectors.

    You must give him credit for increasing the graduation rate of the football players under his tenure.

    Who cares if their classes didn’t have a syllabus or they never had to go to class. Or that they could all turn in the same term paper, they were just doing what they were told was acceptable. It’s certainly not the players fault the academics are slanted to make them capable of passing. He made sure the players had to do as little as possible to graduate.

    I was trying to think of what this video reminded me of…Then I realized it was an SNL skit where John Edwards does a monologue that “clears the air” and everything. I put the link below. They both talk in the same stupid monotone and most of their audience is aware that they’re guilty. The difference is that one is satire and one is real life. This is just embarrassing, and I bet his family of educators is embarrassed to know that their relative is responsible for sullying the academic reputation of UNC.

    He should change that graphic to “Canned Coach Butch Davis”…

    Not only the similarity with John Edwards…Go back and look at Dick Nixon’s “I AM Not a Crook” speech.

    Funny, but the makeup issue was a Nixon problem too..

    The whole “Blake had a clean background check thing” just makes you want to puke. There was a well documented pattern of shady behavior on the part of Blake that had established his reputation within the coaching community (see Spurrier comments) that was ignored.

    Wasn’t Larry Coker hired to clean up the Miami program AFTER Butch left? This is another one of the things that never gets brought up.

    I did not watch b/c I dont want to increase the hits, similar to a CBS reporter with a last name starting with D.

    But I did see excerpts on the news. Unbelievable comes to mind. This may be politically incorrect, but the make-up is Butch’s attempt at reaching out to his Cherokee roots with the war paint????

    He just wants to see the players graduate.

    Who needs a syllabus when you don’t even have to go to class?

    And your papers are written for you, they are probably in the handout for the class, or did they email them?

    I am certain he told the kids and their parents while recruiting, we have special classes for our players, don’t worry you will get your degree.

    Speaking of syllabuses… I meant to post this in the forums because it’s so damn funny:

    My kid just got a job at a Michaels store, the craft place. She was telling me about a difficult customer who was interested in signing up for a craft class but couldn’t make up her mind. So my kid tells me “I just handed her the syllabus for each class so she could decide for herself.” Seriously, Michaels freaking craft store creates a syllabus for each CRAFT CLASS they offer. Which makes sense, because making boodoggles is probably harder than getting an A in a UNX Swahili course.

    That made my day. Of course I had to tell her why I was laughing so hard, which bored her to tears… heh.

    Feel free to annoy your UNX friends with that tidbit of info.
