UGLY and miserable

This morning it was announced that next Saturday’s Clemson @ NC State game will be televised on ABC at 3:30pm.

One piece of good news that happened over the weekend came when the Wolfpack landed Hinesville (GA) Liberty County running back, Shadrach Thornton (6-1, 195 pounds). Thornton originally committed to Kentucky while also showing interest in Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. At least this guy is a 3-star prospect with a legitimate list of decent BCS schools.

Miserable for sure. What’s sad is that I halfway expected it and so wasn’t too upset. Numb now, I guess.

I guess the Textile Bowl will be our “bowl” game this season, and although I think Clemson is highly overrated, they should be able to bowl us over without too much difficulty.

If we lose this one, why even bother to play the Twerps?

Ain’t no joy in Mudville this beautiful Fall morning.

GREAT . . . another opportunity for the region to see us get our a## torn up on TV again. I’ve always heard what happens twice will happen three times. Let’s see . . . . Cincinnati, Florida State, Clemson.
And today in the N & O, TOB says that the team needs to grow up. I’m sick of this coaching staff not accepting responsibility for anything. Maybe it’s the fact that we’ve got the worst DC in the country and a offense that was designed 25 years ago.

Will not surprise me if we step it up and possibly beat Clemson, No really! But if we do that just shows how imcompetent the coaching staff if, to lose to a lowly BC team, and then beat Clemson. So if it happens, fine, but TOB still needs to go, or he needs to clean house, starting with his good friend Bible. Who don’t know our playbook? Pretty predictable, what are there 3 to 5 plays in the whole book? And who is supposed to be coaching Glennon, he has ability, but needs to make some adjustments on his passing, and his decisions, not that the O line does him any favors. At least we can’t get trash talk from the flagship school, since they lost to our underacheiving university.

I’m not positive Clemson crushes us. Their defense isn’t super great. They love the long pass to that really awesome young receiver they have. If our offense can produce SOMETHING to at least give them bad field position and David Amerson can steal a pass or two, special teams and dumb luck may at least keep it closer than the Florida State game we all want to forget.

I’m tired of the coaching staff blaming the problems on our experience level of our team. Yes, we don’t have a ton of seniors on the field, but between the seniors, red-shirt juniors, and juniors, we do have a ton of experience(17 of our 22 starters). The problem is that they are not well coached, or they just are not good enough to compete. Both problems lie with the coaching staff. Hopefully that problem will be corrected by the AD in two weeks.

Yes, DY please do us the honors. No more, of the TOB era, he should of left with Fowler.

I am always amazed at how we, as State fans are very short sighted. Chuck Amato was a master recruiter and a great defensive coach. Kids loved playing for him. Sure, his players were undisciplined at times, but he brought NC State a swagger. He brought in top tier talent. Amato cannot be compared to Obrien. TOB is a great man, any parent should be proud to have their kid play for and move on in life. But as an NC State fan, I was against his hiring in the first place, and he has to go now. Dana Bible is the WORST OFC I have EVER seen. The guy is so predictable, and if he is dead set on a running a play, he is going to do it 10x per game to no avail. Everyone who is an Amato hater always says Phillip Rivers was not his recruit. Ok, i will buy that…..but who developed him? Anyone heard of Norm Chow?…..Phillip Rivers NEVER makes it to the level he is, without Norm Chow. Norm is the greatest OFC in the history of college football, his track record proves it….my point is this….TOB had Russell Wilson(an Amato) recruit, but is about OFC at this level. Dana Bible is a TOB problem, he stinks, he is predictable, we will never be more than a average team, best we can hope is a 8 or 9 game season with multiple losses….Amato was a product of his own success. NC State couldnt keep OFC after Chow’s two year hitch. They were all getting cherry picked to coach other teams. TOB coaches dont have that success because no one wants a conservative OFC who calls the same passing play 10x into the flats for no gains….it is time to go for this whole coachins staff….they cannot recruit, they play a weak scared schedule every year and conservative football is playing not to lose, instead of to win……Gimme the guy who throws a bomb on 2 and 1, than the coach who every single time runs for it.

Really, you do you really think we have any chance against clemson? Please pass the pipe so I can have some of what you folks are smoking. Apparently its some good stuff.

I was thinking that if we beat BC we should forfeit the Clemson game and go right to MD. We will be lucky to get 100 yards of total offense against Clemson. Final score Clemson 37 Pack 3.

Listen fellas, a win at Clemson is a long long long shot at the very best. However, if we lose at home to Maryland, then TOB must go. That will put us at 2-6 in the conference and 5-7 overall. Weak as water.

How many years, if any, does Coach O’Brien have on his current contract?

  12. JSRy2k 11/13/2011 at 3:29 PM #

What are the chances of DY waiting one more season so we don’t have to buy out TOB’s contract next year?

If she pulls the trigger, here’s a suggestion:
    RICH RODRIGUEZ
He’s an east coast guy, coached in the ACC (Clemson OC) and at WVU won/tied for 4 conference championships and played in 2 BCS bowls. Currently @ CBS. On the downside, there is some negative press from former players at Michigan, as well as NCAA violations there.

Sitting on the toilet as I write this. Fitting, I guess. Going to the Clemson game with more interest than I would have if we had won yesterday. Obviously looking for SOME reason to look forward to it. Perhaps the team and coaches will be more interested as well. But, by chance, if we win, there’s always the late season inability to beat ANY Maryland team. I was never this negative. Have always supported TOB. Just can’t anymore. So does DY give him a chance to fire his staff and reboot….or does she jump in after the final gun at the MD game and send him packing?

Agree with those of you who are saying Clemson is a bit suspect on defense. But given the past three weeks, I’m not sure that will matter a lot. We’ve become stagnant (to put it nicely) on offense, and I don’t see the coaching staff suddenly changing their stripes. I guess we’ll see. If we can’t manage to put more than 10 on the board against BC, I’m really thinking that Clemson’s D is plenty good enough.

Frankly, I’m ready to turn my interests to basketball and see what this coaching staff and team is made of.

  15. GeneralNuisance 11/13/2011 at 4:07 PM #

Unfortunatley expected the results we got Saturday . . . sad really. I’ll be at the game to watch Clempson crush us and then I’ll be done with the season. I have no desire to watch the Twerps play out of their mind and crush us as well …

  16. BamaPack 11/13/2011 at 4:24 PM #

    Water finds its level.

  17. Virginia Wolf 11/13/2011 at 4:45 PM #

BamaPack, yeah, exactly! We’re found our level and its at the drought line and consistantly too! DY needs to move now and not wait until the end of the season. If TOB is still here next year, WPC membership will dip to an all time low. Tickets will be on sale for a dollar each or less. Our coaching staff is the scum of the coaching world. Make the move Debbie!!!

  18. Virginia Wolf 11/13/2011 at 4:46 PM #

Oh BTW, at this point, I think we lose to Clempson by 40 points!!!

  19. Khan 11/13/2011 at 6:31 PM #

We will somehow beat Clemson, and everybody will get their hopes up about a bowl and we’ll lay a big, fat, smoldering turd against Maryland, as usual.

  20. choppack1 11/13/2011 at 7:13 PM #

mak4pak – I’m on board w/ Bible criticism now. I was willing to forgive 3 subpar games when we won 2 of them. However, our offense was miserable yesterday.

  21. blpack 11/13/2011 at 8:20 PM #

Unfortunately we are going to get embarrassed on Sat. Our offense is too predictable and we can’t block anybody. Whatever offense you run, do it. Do what you do, but do it well. We do not. We didn’t sign on for 6-6, average. We have seen that ever since Sheridan left. I love beating UNC-cheat. I hate being in the bottom half of our division almost every year.

  22. choppack1 11/13/2011 at 9:07 PM #

blpack – you are somewhat correct. But while we didn’t sign up for the 6-6 record, we shouldn’t necessarily be surprised by it.

What surprises me is how awful our offense has been. Our D has played good enough for us to have won the last 3 of the four, and played good enough to keep us in the game vs. FSU if our offense had put 2 TD’s on the board in the 1st 3 quarters. A month ago, I would have said that Archer has to go, now, I’m thinking it’s Bible. And it’s a shame – Bible has a great record of developing QBs – but the game does pass people by…and there’s a very good chance that this has happened in this case.

  23. 61Packer 11/13/2011 at 9:19 PM #

RichRod would surely improve the offense, but then the defense would be as bad as the offense is now.

  24. mak4dpak 11/13/2011 at 11:36 PM #

tuckerdorm1983, we do not play at Clemson, the game, is at CF, and when we get fired up for our opposition we look like a different team, like the UNX game. So don’t be shocked if we win. I see a close win, or a blowout loss.

  25. NCStatePride 11/14/2011 at 12:09 AM #

Everyone has said all that needs to be said. All I’ll add is that come next week, I’ll be watching and taking my beating, but hoping for the best. Good luck, Pack!
