Well, that was fun. It was one of those perfect North Carolina November days, the atmosphere inside Carter-Finley was great, and that team we saw could’ve competed with anyone in the nation yesterday. But it was also mind-numbingly frustrating after last week’s trip to Chestnut Hill. Where on earth has yesterday’s team been?

Yesterday’s win wasn’t just TOB’s first over a Top 10 opponent (at State), it was also the perfect microcosm of the TOB tenure: it is indeed true that we never have any clue which team will show up each week. And let’s be honest, all yesterday’s win does is set us up to, once again, have our hopes crushed by our bugaboo Maryland.

Amidst State’s dominance of the Atlantic Division champions, David Amerson set a new ACC mark for single-season interceptions with his 11th pick and T.J. Graham became the all-time ACC leader in kickoff return yardage.

I doubt many of us saw the State-Vanderbilt game, since many of us were at the football game and it was broadcast only on ESPN3. State lost 86-79.

I bought tickets on EBay for ClemPson game and thought that it might have been a bad investment. Happily, I was wrong. My wife and I had a great time seeing the Wolfpack win.

TOB does things the right way and does not say embarrassing things when we do lose. For me, Chuck’s mouth made strong my desire for his exit. My gut tells me that TOB gets one more year.

Great win this week….I never would have believed this team could beat Clemson so totally after all the eggs laid this year but I am very happy to have been wrong. It was great to see Bible open the play book with all the motion, screens, etc that have been lacking all year. I don’t know what made him change to the more open aggressive offense but hope he does it again against Md. Loved the aggressive D as well. My biggest gripe all year has been with Bible and Archer and am among those wanting to see them change or be gone, so maybe TOB lit a fire under them this week and hope they have finally realized the need for better play calling and defensive schemes. TOB needs to keep it lit under them as well as one under the players. Johnnie Evans talked about the lack of motivation from the players this year during the post-game show and bluntly stated they should not be this up and down and have shown a lack of maturity and senior leadership and it’s their fault as much as anything the coaches have done or not done.
I understand people’s pessimism about beating MD given the way this team has performed this year. I hope for a win but just don’t expect it given their hitory.

GA, you said last week that you know something. Has anything changed?

Baxter, thanks for explaining the depth issue. Did not realize that major football teams only have 3 quality defensive tackles. After that the rest just are not ready to play. I guess the teams in the top ten have just been lucky to not get these young men hurt.

Maybe someday we will be lucky enough to develop a group of 5 to 7 quality defensive tackles.

Maybe someday we will be able to have 5 to 7 linebackers.
Maybe someday we will be able to have 5 or 6 cornerbacks.
    Maybe someday ……..

Your right it not reasonable to expect depth in key positions in year 5 of a coaching staff.

The crowd was electrifying at the game Saturday, and needs to be the same against Maryland. As for coaching, it was nice to see both the offense and defense take a more aggressive aproach. See how you win games, so no more conservative play calling please. It sucks!
