Pump up time! To bowl, or not to bowl?

HUGE game for the Wolfpack today! (Link) All the marbles on the line — either Tom O’Brien will go to his third bowl in five years at NC State…or he won’t. We will either have two straight winning seasons…or we won’t.

Joe Giglio sets the table for you here…but nobody did a better job of setting the historical backdrop of today’s game than our very own ‘ruffles’ in this fantastic entry. You can click herefor CFN’s take on the game; and Caulton Tudor projected a similar score (link).

The regular-season finale finds the Wolfpack (6-5, 3-4 ACC) with a lot more to gain than anyone could have guessed three or four weeks ago. It’s hard to remember that Maryland (2-9, 1-6) started the season with that impressive win over Miami. That game must seem like a million years ago to Randy Edsall. Wolfpack, 31-14.

Nice for the announcers to point out the boo birds as we let the clock run out at half. This is pathetic and the fans are tired of it. I can’t remember the last time we bood our own team. Can anyone? Very ugly and hard to ignor the boos were the comments from Trotta and Boweden on the ACC half time show.

Kinda got the feeling that the Clemson game was more about Clemson then it was about State improving.

TOB should do NC State and favor and QUIT. That way we can go out and get a coaching staff who knows how to WIN and doesn’t throw players under the bus when we LOSE.

Has MD punted at all this game? I missed some of Q1. I haven’t seen them punt at all.

You guys need to get off Glennon’s case. He is a decent QB, and he is not a turnover machine. Given the spotty OL play, particularly early in the season, we should be thrilled that he only has 12 INTs on the year. Factor in the fact that this is his first year starting, and I think he is solid. I can understand being upset at the coaching staff, but Glennon has not played that bad this year.

To bowl or not to bowl?

    Not to bowl.

I’m watching the game from a VT alum’s bar in Charleston. Charleson is nice. If I could retire here tomorrow, I would. Wait. What? Exactly.

  12. Solesky 11/26/2011 at 2:51 PM #

Didn’t we have at least two time outs and we chose to let the clock run out instead of trying to get into field goal range???

  13. pakfanistan 11/26/2011 at 2:53 PM #

Haha, the commentators don’t know our names.

Like I said, the coaching staff was working on their beach houses this week. Why would you think anything different. Run the click out when you are down 35-14…..I understand the thought process of “let’s just get out of the 1/2 and re-group” but come on man. You are getting your a$$ handed to you by a team that hates each other!!!!!!

Apparently, football team is ready to call it basketball season. :/

    Epic fail.

Don’t care anymore…season and TOB era both history.

Sad that it has come to booing, but that is reality. Announcers, whether the ACC network or ours, are always going to side with the system. To them it’s just tough luck, a bounce of the ball, or something similar.

For a change, I’d just like someone involved in the system to say something relevent or truthful. This isn’t about one game or about a game here and there, it’s about the body of work. After 5 years, this crowd has proven they aren’t up to the task.

  18. Baylisascaris 11/26/2011 at 2:55 PM #

    Totally embarrassing on every level.

  19. Pack Mentality 11/26/2011 at 2:56 PM #

If TOB is the coach next year I will have no interest in football.

  20. bill.onthebeach 11/26/2011 at 2:59 PM #

Ok — had to go for a long ride… a early beer run, so to speak. Now, we have if made our halftime adjustments, we should see a shutout in the second half and the last team to score will win a close one.

TOB and staff heard the ‘boos’ too, for sure.

  21. WolftownVA81 11/26/2011 at 2:59 PM #

Ldr, I did hear Trotta say “how do you not come out pumped up when a bowl game is on the line”. That’s pretty spot on as far as the condition of our program goes.

  22. MrPlywood 11/26/2011 at 3:00 PM #

With everything on the line against a 2-9 team and THIS is what TOB puts on the field? Time to go.

  23. WolftownVA81 11/26/2011 at 3:03 PM #

A sack and a near pick. We can’t seem to get on track.

  24. eas 11/26/2011 at 3:03 PM #

Everybody in the freaking stadium knows exactly where Glennon is throwing!!! My gosh it’s like watching an old hunting dog pointing at a bird.

  25. WolftownVA81 11/26/2011 at 3:04 PM #

three and out, good thing we deferred in the first half.
